Agreed. It's about a balance and the same applies in the UK too. It's an unequal fight for small businesses. Proportionately, they have significantly higher tax payments.

While I'm on my soapbox, it's a shame to see apartments with soft furnishings entirely from John Lewis; towels, bedding, curtains and pillows. Nothing against John Lewis but all these are available cheaper for the same or better quality in Mallorca.

Worst of all, I fear the first to go might be the Chinese shops and then I'll have nothing to do when the weather is like this!
