Non Residents Tax......HELP!

Has anybody used the company spanishtaxforms.co.uk recently to pay their non residents property tax. Would love some feedback on this.

Yes used them last year for the first time and the service was excellent, as mentioned by other users earlier in this thread.
Very reasonable fee and we paid over €250 less than using our local solicitor.
Spanish Tax Forms ask you to complete an online form and the one bit of info you will probably need from your solicitor is the cadastral value (valor catastral). When I asked for mine and said I was going to tackle it myself, they weren't in the least bit sniffy about it and willingly gave me the information I needed.
Once you have submitted the completed online form, within a few days you get back in the post a set of forms (Modelo 210), some of which have bar codes on them. No more of the old fashioned 'stickers' system.
They contain clear instructions in English on what to do with them.
You simply go to your Spanish bank with the forms, they scan the bar codes and this, together with your payment they tell me, flows straight through to the Spanish tax authorities and you are given stamped forms back as receipts. Paid in October for the prior tax year and have marked in my online calendar to remind me to do it at the same time each year. No-one will remind you once you go it alone!
All done for £29.95 plus the tax you owe in euros.

Hi
I've used John at Spanish tax forms for ten years 100% happy with his service.
As my other post my problem is optaining the valor catastral value for John then presenting the forms and paying the tax due without going out to the port this year.

Totally agree with Posts above. We started using him after some favourable posts on the forum. John delivers a first class reliable service and has saved us loads over using solicitors in the last 5yrs!
Prompt helpful replies to any questions and very speedy.
We will certainly continue using him for the foreseeable future.

Okay, just read the bit about obtaining the valor cadestral problem.
If you have the details from your last payment he might just work on this as we have been told by the council that the valor rates will not be changed this year.
If you get your reference number from your bank (on the bill the council presented), you can then use this on the council website and all details will come up. We actually went along to the council drop in in old school in January and the guy there just typed in the ref no. and printed off our rates details with values split down. He also told us we can go onto their website ourselves with our ref no.
Council website Agència Tributària de les Illes Balears - A.T.I.B. 493
Our ref no on the last bill started withDO-DRZ........ that might help you find it.
Hope this helps!

Forgot to say John presents our payments for us every year as we are not out at the appropriate time to pay. He charges a supplement for this of approximately £10. He tells us tax amount then adds on his fee and the supplement and we pay by bank transfer to him. He then pays it and sends us receipts. A very slick service and well worth the extra, unless you are going to be there. No hassle!

Hi Overthehill
The way you pay is perfect for us, just checked our bank statement and found the reference number.
I had a quick look on the council web site but couldn't find where to post the reference number have you any suggestions.

Hi,

You of course require a representative who is a resident there to present your yearly returns. This can of course be an Economist, I use a lady in the Port who is very proficient and reasonably priced.Have known her for some 8 years now.

Have had a property there since 1984.

Reply to this if you think you would like to contact her.

If I need a representative that's not a problem for me. It's getting the valor catastral value each year is my problem, so if anybody on the forum know how to log the IBI reference number into the right section within the pollenca tax office web site as listed by Overthehill it would be very much appreciated.

Hi there Rebel. On the website I tried tributs local then on right hand section you can see CID. click and from 1st drop down menu in left box select DO in second box it wants alfanumeric ref no. This is where my lack of Spanish lets me down. I typed in my ref no beginning DRZ. ... and ending in the no if our apartment then another 2 letters and clicked pagero. Then it told me the ref no was wrong. So I only got half way doing it myself! The council guy did it for us using this no so not sure where I am going wrong. If you have someone in port who could take along your ref no to council drop in every Wednesday after 10am in the1st office on right perhaps council would do it for you. I didn't have to prove who I was, just gave property ref no. Took 10 mins including waiting for guy to come back from a break!
Hope this all helps. Must start to learn Spanish!

HI Overthehill
That's a good start I will get the Spanish- English dictionary out over the next couple of days and try and get through the rest of the tax web site.
I will keep you updated.

Thank you very much overthehill - it worked for me (though another question at the end for you). My bank attaches receipt PDF files to the two charges they make on my statement for rates and rubbish. On these are the reference numbers beside the category DO. When I followed your instructions about accessing the website, selecting Tributs Local and then the option CID, I simply selected 'DO' and pasted the reference number from my bank receipt and up came the relevant data along with the valor cadastral on which the rates are based. Printed for future reference.

One further question, overthehill, can you be specific about where the council drop-in is as I have a couple of errors that need to be corrected? I'll be popping over to PP in a few weeks. The rates still has the previous owner's name on it 9 years on and the rubbish receipt has my husband's name but is mis-spelled so I need to pop in and get them amended to reflect the correct info. Thanks in advance.

Hi there supermac, glad it worked for you maybe I caught website on a bad day!
Council drop in tax office is in building next to the children's play area in main square off road at right angle to church as you stand in square- on Metges Llopis on the left side as you go from square about 25m. Think it used to be old school. Tax office is in first door on right through the doorway. Council Rep only there wednesdays after 10am and believe they are only there 'morning' session.
He didn't speak much English so good luck with the amendments!

Hi Overthehill
Had another go today and it worked for me same as supamac, when I imputed the reference I had a 1 when it should have been a I, so sorted
Many thanks I'm a happy Rebel now.

Hi Supamac
We had the same problem wrong names etc. if they can't sort it in the port we went to the tax office in pollenca oldtown and they sorted it for us.

Thanks overthehill and Rebel - I can find it from that description. I have some Spanish so with a bit of rehearsal in advance we may get somewhere! Luckily one of the days I am there at month end is a Wednesday so will pop in and get amendments done.
