Obtaining your Residencia/NIE.

We finally got around to obtaining our Residencia certificates today, have been meaning to do it for ages but it is such a daunting prospect. You know how it is, you worry about the language barrier, the fact that it is an official process and for me it meant going to Palma (which scares me to death because i hate cities and worry about getting lost).
Anyway thanks to Becky and her staff at mallorcasolutions.com the whole process was very easy, they did all the paperwork and queing, we just had to turn up and sign on the dotted line, i thoroughly recommend their service. .

Applying for Residencia is a very simple process. Yes it does involve going to Palma and queueing for an hour or two. Also there are a couple of forms to fill in in Spanish but it really is very simple stuff - just name, address, NIE, DoB, Place of Birth etc. I would recommend anyone needing to do it to have a go themseves.

Well Done Sparky. Yes Deanscroft it is easy to do it yourself but it can be daunting if you are unsure. Not everyone's as mad as us . Thanks to you we have done our driving licences today.

I know I should know this but who is entitled to residencia? do you have to be a permanent resident or just a property owner?

I thought you had to live here for 6 months or more each year to apply for residencia rather than just be a property owner.

It may well be a simple process for those that can speak the lingo fluently and are happy to spend an hour or two queueing, by which time the bank you have to go to for your receipt has closed so you may have to go to Palma again the next day and queue again for another hour or two.
All i am saying is for me Mallorca Solutions was a gift from heaven, i had a stress free day and going by the reaction of the officials to Sally (who dealt with our case) they appreciate the professional approach that must make their job easier.
