One hell of a night in Nostalgia.

Well as you all know it was Halloween yesterday, we wandered down to Nostalgia at about 10pm. All the staff were in fancy dress and the place was well decorated. It was a bit quiet but soon started to fill up, a few came in fancy dress.
Michaela and Lucy laid on a lovely complimentary finger buffet, a great selection of nibbles and not a sarnie in sight. As always Colin played a good mix of music including some Spanish for the locals who were there. We rolled out at about 2am after enjoying one hell of a night.

We were really impressed with Nostalgia - very nicely done up and about the most pleasant place to have a drink in the vicinity of the Square. (To be honest though I wouldn't have set foot in the place had Colin Sweeney been doing his Benny Hill act - the whole concept of this sort of entertainment - and the board advertising it outside - is completely at odds with the fairly swanky and sophisticated decor.) Interestingly there were quite a few Mallorcans at the bar when we were there - can't see them going for Benny Hill!

I was surprised to find out that Benny Hill was pretty popular in Spain and with the fact that lots of tv programmes used (thankfully that's improved!) to reach Spain years later...

Hi Kate, Colin doesn't do a Benny Hill act, it just a comedy spot, he sings "Ernie" and that's it, i was there one night and he had a lot of locals in who laughed their heads off and some actually joined in the "chase" at the end. He does change these spots so you might not get to see it anyway.

Ah - guess I was misled by the board outside! I guess I shouldn't judge - obviously Colin has plenty of fans - I think what I was trying to say was that the interior looks very chic which is slightly at odds with the sort of entertainment that seems to be on offer. The place seems to have a bit of a split personality - I would definitely go back though and maybe we will even give Colin a whirl!

I agree kate the cool sophistication of the bar does seem slightly at odds with Benny Hill acts, but we thought we'd give it a go and we weren't disappointed. I challenge anyone not to laugh if they saw Colin do Ernie As sparky says he doesn't do it every night..... but he is such a lovely chap I wouldn't care if he did!

Try it next time you're over, it's a great place for a nightcap.........or 6
