Just hired a car at Palma airport from RECORD car hire through DO YOU SPAIN. Seemed good, full-full petrol, using my own excess insurance. Ready to go-then checked the contract. The small print insists that over 70;s MUST TAKE THE CONTRACTORS excess insurance waiver = €140! -and I am 70!
What stared off as a cheap car hire became an expensive one as i was hiring for 8days.I had no idea of this when hiring but these things are always hidden in the small print to catch you out.
Getting fed up with hidden scams. Cancelled RECORD and rebooked with AUTO EUROPE who did not apply this demand. Take care when booking cars at the airport, scams are prolific. CHECK EVERYTHING CAREFULLY BEFORE RENTING.
