Patio 49

Just wondering if anyone knows if Patio 49 is open? My lovely in laws are planning a trip in June and we’re wondering if there was any news on this restaurant which is one of their favourites.

It is not open at present. I have not heard anything on the street!

I spoke to Adam and Julia during the summer of 2020 (in the few short weeks between lockdowns etc,) and they had decided to stay closed for the time being as they found the constant uncertainty draining. I have known them for many years and it was clear to me that their hearts were no longer in the business, so I wouldn't be surprised if the closure is permanent.

Have seen many restaurants have opened but just wondered if IRU or Brisas on the front were open?

Yes - just spoken with Julie whilst doing a deep clean after two years of closure.

As a full time carnivore I was a bit hesitant about dining at Patio 49, and whilst I haven't been converted to veganism, we had a wonderful meal there last night. Adam is a very creative chef producing individual dishes of first class quality. Particular mention of the chestnut and thyme loaf which was delicious.
Recommended.

Surprised to see that Patio 49 has completely closed - all the interior has been stripped out and signage removed. Does anyone know what has happened to Adam and Julie? I know that they temporarily closed in June as one of them had COVID. Hope they are ok.

They have had their FB and Twitter accounts hacked, this could be the reason for this rumour. Please let's wait to hear from them before spreading gossip.

I saw Adam and Julie last week as they were signing off the lease. They have decided to fully retire after 21 years of running restaurants in the port. They made no mention as to the future of the site but if course that could be commercially sensitive.
