Does anyone know when this is scheduled to take place - I assume it is April, as in previous years - and also how you go about registering to take part? It's not for me - my husband fancies having a go while we are out next year. I've Googled it but there doesn't seem to be any information available yet.

Thanks v. much Pollensa! Will let you know how we get on!

I know this is not really related but just a comment about the posters produced for events around PP. Whether its the marathon or the wine fair etc all the posters are worthy of frames! If i lived there i would "acquire" them and start a collection. :D

Quite agree. There is some lovely artwork and I think they often commission local artists to produce them. :)

That is a stunning poster! - you're absolutely right. I have never seen them for sale anywhere which seems a wasted opportunity.

I think it's now possible to register for the half-marathon as the website appears to be up and running - with a special offer on the registration fee if you register before the end of January (10E rather than 15). Husband is sorting out his registration today!

They are offering 1000 euros if anyone beats the course record ,but seeing its 1hr 3 minutes by Daniel Kiplagat I think their money's safe!!

Well, it's the big day tomorrow and OH has just been down to register and pick up the ubiquitous goody bag from the race sponsors. It's always a bit like Christmas, this moment - so what do we have this time? A runner's top - this time accompanied by a snood-like garment to protect one's neck from the sun - very useful. A bookmark - always welcome. Physio gel for those after-race aches and pains - might need that. But wait - there's more. A keyring. A Max Hurtzler mug and smart matching cycling socks. A box of chocolate-covered Inca biscuits. And - last but certainly not least - a bottle of Mortitx wine. I assume this is meant to be consumed in a celebratory fashion after the race is over, and is not intended for refreshment during the race itself, but given the general decadence of this particular runners' goody bag, who knows? All this for a registration fee of only 10 euros.

Last time OH did a half-marathon it was in the UK on a grey, wet day in November and he received a small energy bar and a packet of edible seeds. But this is Mallorca. If it were me I'd be tempted to trouser the goody bag and forget about the race (but don't worry, he's been training for months, so he will be there on the start line!) And we'll be there too, clutching our freebies and cheering him on.
