Possible permanent move of the PP market.

The council intend to move the market back to the square as soon as the square is revamped(so says the mayor)

Heard to day that the market could be back in the square this Wednesday or if not the following one.

Today things are on the move. All the roads surrounding the square which have been dug up for pipe laying are being rolled,washed ready for asphalting. New shrubs in one of the four garden areas in the square. Sorry no camera with me to take pictures ,I'll leave that to Sparky when the roads all look nice and black instead of dust!.

I heard today that the market traders were told next Wed (after Easter) but more likely the Wed after that. Also heard that vital parts for the lights have gone missing which doesn't necessarily mean that the market can't move back but we may have to stumble around in the dark for a bit longer !!

Good news is that it's on it's way back before the season really gets underway

We went to the market today in the car park, what a mess the roads are in
around the whole area, with workers chewing the fat and not working to
clear the dust and grit.I hope the Mayor does an inspection prior to the season
starting. We will not bother to venture near the square in the heat of the summer
if it remains as it is today food and drink being covered in dust !!

I don't understand this.......Easter in two days time and the Spanish can't be bothered, or whatever, to clear and tidy the area for paying visitors?

Even if it's not finished at least they could clean it. If it looks scruffy people will not return and that will seriously harm PP's tourist industry.

I hope the council reads this forum......but I won't hold my breath.
