We have been to various destinations over the years and something always brings us back to puerto pollensa every year.
We love the beach, the restaurants, the weather and the people. I actually think my sentence would be shortened by saying there is nothing I don't like about this place. If we have travelled elsewhere we find ourselves comparing it and so we have just given up on the feeling for not being more adventurous with our choice of destination. We explore all of the island at our choosing and retreat back to the idyllic setting that puerto pollensa offers. Our daughter has grown up there year on year and it really is like a secong home to us. We love it!:D

This reminds me of when my son was about eight he made friends with another child on the beach whose parents owned one of the apartments on the front. He had been playing with them for about an hour or so, when they came along to ask if he wanted to go out with them and their child on the boat they had, they had a ring out the back that the boys could have a ride on. They were only a few doors away from where we were sitting but being a cautious mum I would not let our son go, it was very nice of them to offer and was probably very genuine but I had visions of our son getting in the boat and disappearing round the bay at Formentor never to be seen again. Needless to say we had one very upset son who thought he had a mean mum & dad. Going back to the original post children do easily make friends on the beach.

OOps meant to post this after the question about meeting up with another child dont know how I ended up here!

romanb - I can understand your distrust and with all of the upsetting things involving children around the world one has to be hesitant but I found that most people in PP are genuine.

We met a couple on the beach outside Little Italy (back then it was still the Coach House) who were bringing up their grandaughter because her mother was no longer around (long story -won't go in to it).

Anyway - after a few days of the kids and parents/grandparents getting to know each other we invited the girl over to our apartment for a barbeque and a sleep over - there was no hesitation for the grandparents to agree (I am sure they must have some reservations) and every thing was fine - just nice people in a nice place getting to know each other and making friends

The passage of time and modern technology brings with it many stories and much suspicion. It is a tough world. I agree that the majority of those walking our world are good nice decent people. It is sad that the few have changed our thinking. Poor Maddie McCann is still in our thoughts. There can often be no second chances with children and as tough as it is and with much regret, we owe it to them to be suspicious anywhere, everywhere and all the time.

Yes this has moved on but the subject was finding friends for children in PP. I don't think it matters which forum is used to remind people not to leave their brains at home when on holiday especially when it comes to letting guards down with children.

Yeh - maybe us adults need to be careful too..... all those lovely tanned Spanish men on the golden sands of PP is enough for us to let our guard down too! lol

Eleanor
