I don't know why but PP is the best place on earth, been to lots of places, but you can not beat it I don't know why any thoughts?

I think because at the moment pp is untouched and not commercialised makes it a real chill out holiday, hopefully it will stay like that but reading of some changes to the port who knows how long it will stay like that

Hi Wease,

People return to PP again and again because they love it the way it is. By updating it surroundings may upset the apple cart (as one might say). Sometimes regeneration is not always a good thing.

I have been going to PP since I was 11 (44 now) I have taken my husband and children - they are 15 and 18 and have been going since they were one years old. We love PP and would not go anywhere else. We have made many many friends there, both holiday makers and locals over the years, in fact we attended a local friends wedding last year and it was fabulous. One of our dear Majorcan friend's partner is expecting their first baby in May and we cannot wait to meet him/her.

Although some changes are not always for the best there are others then that make up for it...I dont think thre is any 1 thing that you can put your finger on that makes PP special...its all the little things-the familiarity yet the joy of discovering a new restuarant or shop..we have been going for 10 yrs ...(newcomers compared to some) and have made many friends over the years...as HelenMac said both local and other holiday makers.We have been lucky and managed 3 trips this year....now -how many sleeps till the end of April I wonder

I think that it is mainly the fact that the port is still relatively unspoilt (I do not like pedestrianisation!) and I hope it remains that way. As for attracting more visitors - can it handly it without more building work and massive infrastructure improvements like drains, etc. which will all mean that the port will loose it's unspoilt feel.

Please stop the developers pulling down the old buildings and squeezing in more new apartment blocks!

Just had a look at the webcam and the front looks better than ever Ah! see a little man just finishing dismantling the Tex-Mex, MY HERO. Now little man, can you just move along the front a little and start dismantling the other one, and how much would it take to persuade you to forget to erect them next easter?

Wrong location, lousy food, lousy service, over-priced, corporate, centralised cooking facilities(Muro), too many, too soon, in danger of turning PP into "just another Majorca resort", ruining the entrance to the Pine Walk, not wanted by many regular tourists, not wanted by the most locals. Slowly eroding the PP i fell in love with. And thats just for starters!

I agree but I don not think TM will be the only company to change the Port beyond all recognition in the space of a few years. Too many developers have got their hands on too much land and the type of properties they envisage are not traditional. Just look at that hideous development Taylor Woodrow have put up in the town.

OK! Maybe i rattle on a bit But on my frequent travels to PP lots of people convey their dismay at these type of developments, maybe i'm the self-appointed champion of the silent majority
