We made the move to live here in November 2007. We have no regrets and have enjoyed becoming part of the local community both English and Mallorcan.

11 years of bliss in a wonderful place - it doesn't get much better! Can't wait until we do the same :)
The weather looks beautiful over there today (checked on the webcams), whereas I walked the dog in the pouring rain this morning!!

We have been coming to PP since 1994 and were lucky enough to buy an apartment here last year. We now spend at least one week a month in the Port, with our sons also using the apartment regularly. This Forum has been a huge help over the years, not the least as offering invaluable advice while we were looking for, and buying, our property. Like many, many Forum members, we would be EXTREMELY disappointed if Sparky didn’t continue as moderator and provider of daily weather reports. Long may this excellent Forum continue to thrive.

How exciting! So after all those years of holidaying there, you can now go there as and when you want to, that's fantastic.
The forum, and website in general, is a great resource for anybody living or planning to visit Puerto Pollensa. I know that many of our family and friends used it when planning their trip over last year. We just want it to continue to be the success that Zelda made it.

Ps: We have no intention of letting Sparky go anywhere - not unless she wants to :D

Thanks Sparky - we are finding our feet, slowly but surely.
It gives us peace of mind knowing that you are around if we need you and I am sure we will be asking for your advice sooner rather than later.
As long as you are happy to continue moderating, we would absolutely love you to carry on :)

I will do whatever i can to help Toni, thanks for your confidence in me :D.

Three cheers for Sparky and new owners

The forum would not be the same without Sparky. We can all check out the weather forecast easily on our own but just not the same without the "Sparky" factor .

Been coming to PP for over 30 years now and cannot imagine a year without our PP fix.

All the best in your new venture.

Zelda I would also like to add my thanks and best wishes to you. Over the years I have found invaluable information and if I encountered a problem someone always had the answer. I love keeping up to date with the news, opening/closings/recommendations of restaurants from here until I next return. A wonderful idea, long may it continue.

Hola Russ & Tony!
Me & my partner Olga have owned apartment in Llenaire for just over a year & love the place. We get out as much as possible with our 4 year old son, friends & family.
Good luck with your new venture & life in PP & let us know when the welcome cocktail part is

Thank you everyone for giving us such a warm welcome.
Zelda's boots are going to be big boots to fill, but we look forward to trying:)
It would be great to learn a bit about you all - who has made the permanent move to PP? Who just spends as much time as they possibly can there? Excited to get to know you. It looks like this is a lovely community.

We're working hard behind the scenes at the moment and there's a lot to take in!
We'll be sure to give you a shout though👍

The end of an era - and the start of a new one! - great news, hopefully exciting times lie ahead, and huge thanks to everyone who was involved keeping the 'old' forum going for so long. We would certainly massively miss Sparky if she wasn't involved! - not only for her fantastic weather reports, but her great knowledge of the area. Our story: we came to Pollensa first in 1995 when we stayed in a finca, absolutely fell in love with it and have returned at least twice a year ever since. In 2001 we were lucky enough to be able to buy a little finca of our own - very similar to the one we stayed in on our first visit - it's mostly rented out, as otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford the upkeep! - but we feel privileged to be able to stay there a couple of weeks a year! As our daughters are now grown up and prefer the town life, we're currently in the process of refurbishing a town house in the Old Town, which will become our base for future holidays and also hopefully our permanent home in two or three years. I am counting the days......

I first came here way back in the late 60s with my parents and sister. My father had been taking us on holidays around the med for quite a few years but PP was the place he and my mother fell in love with and so they bought our apartment in Gommar in the late 70s. Sadly I am now the only one left and decided to make the permanent move here just over a year ago with very little money and no work but hopefully more prospects than the UK and trying to get settled before Brexit.

It has been tough! trying to build a business again from scratch, and health scares along the way, but it looks like things are starting to come together and I will be able to start enjoying life in a beautiful place - not just PP but the whole of the jewel in the med.:)

GG - I loved some of the old family photos you have posted in the past. Many reminded me of our early family visits. We first went in 1975. We stayed at the Bahia with a variety of other guests of many nationalities and everyone mixed and socialised every night. Had a huge party on the beach on our last night and enjoyed throwing Francisco the waiter into the sea! It was fantastic! We first discovered the Coral bar that visit too where they had just 2 tables out the front and Mama and Papa were running it. Been back to PP every year since and we have had an apartment for 12 years or so now.
Good luck with your future business and enjoy :)

Good luck to you sir. Anyone showing a bottle of " Rosado" next to their site name will do for me.:D
