Just to let anyone in the north of England know Jet 2 have a big sale on at the moment, there are around 6-10 different dates to Mallorca from leeds in August for £0.99 plus taxes.

Total price is £19.99 IF you don't have any luggage.

Add about £15 for a suitcase.

Never known August prices be so cheap!

Just had a look as was very tempted

Outgoing can be cheap at £0.99 + extras on some Tuesdays but returns are at least £70 + extras and much more on weekends.

Resisted the temptation as we already have a holiday booked for end of September until early in October and I will have to wait until then

If I see a last minute Villa bargain I might just get the plastic out..
All our favourites are booked all summer.

Hi Gang.. I would really recommend looking at flying from Blackpool airport with Jet2..It really is a great little airport the security is great and not too over bearing and you are less likely to be treated as cattle..the £10 ADC..(Airport Deveplopement Charge ) is in leiu of parking charges..although I would recommend dropping the wife and kids off at the front of the airport and then going to find a space..we ended up walking a fair distance from the overspill park the the back of the airport..
I have also found that its sometimes worth paying the extra petrol in the car to get there as it was well over £400 cheaper to Fly from Blackpool as it would have been from Leeds-Bradford..we got 2 adults and 2 children for £255..as opposed to well over £700 from Leeds-Bradford..we flew out on the 12th of july this year (2009).

Agree with all BigDav says. We last flew from there in May. The security had been rearranged and updated from earlier visits, but overall very civilised and acceptable. Rather different from Manchester where a friend had horrendous experience with huge queues at security. "Oh! your plane is boarding,sir? Ah! that will be £10 each please and I'll put you at the front of the queue!" Then the long walk to the plane.
Not so at Blackpool. The plane puts it's nose into the departure lounge, you finish your coffe and climb aboard. Well almost!!
Hopefully a similar good experience 22nd August.

jet2 flights from leeds £0.99 + tax in august

I would endorse what others say about blackpool - we flew from there in june this year for the first time and it was the most relaxed and stressfree journey I have ever had. We didn't even have to endure long walks from the overspill car park either because my hubby has a disabled parking disc and the disabled parking is in the pay and display short term car park directly in front of the terminal. I will always consider b'pool first from now on - manchester is anything but relaxed or stress free
