Record - luck still holding but only just
Arrived at Palma airport around 10am and hurried to collect a car from record ( many many previous posts about me being just about the only person who has luck with this company ) and yipeee my luck seemed to have held ............ 3 people being served and 1 queuing in front of me ..... I times the wait from arriving in queue until someone available to sort out my car, it was 7 minutes RESULT ....... interestingly within that 7 mins the queue behind me had grown to about 7 people so it really does pay to hurry off the plane ..... but why am I telling you all this little gem on info because I am about as far from a fast sprinter as you can get and don’t wanna have to race any of you in the future.
So I started to sort out the car and the lady who served me was just about the rudest, surliest person I had ever dealt with ................ she pushed and pushed me when I said I didn’t want the extra insurance ( we have an annual policy ) .................. she demanded I go and get the passports and driving licences of all drivers ( have always shown all driving licences but usually only 1 passport ...... luckily Mr CD and rest of party had arrived at counter by then so not really a problem ) and then she didn’t believe the address in PP I was giving her ...... she basically wouldn’t believe the road name was a genuine name ............... the irony is that my records are all on the record computer as I am a GO member. Anyway when we eventually got the keys ...... despite her rudeness it only took 10mins , we got a nearly new Nemo and were away from the airport within 30mins of landing. The rudeness annoyed me; having ot pay for a full tank of fuel that I didn’t need annoyed me BUT we paid 105euros for 6 days plus a ridiculous 65euros for fuel ............... the next cheapest we could find for a similar sized car was 180 euros excluding fuel ........... I guess I will put up with the attitude so long as it saves us the cost of Tapas for 4.
