Very early days but we are thinking about relocating to PP ,ut have a few questions, perhaps some of you can answer, which may help?
Sorry if its a bit long winded.

1.Would like to long term rent for a year or 2 to see how it goes.Is that possible?

2.Would like to bring our animals? 2 Cats and a Great Dane! How do i go about getting them over plus would need,to rent where animals are accepted and with some sort of garden area?
Is it cheaper to rent further out in the countryside and what sort of monthly fees are we looking at.

3.Would be working (Internet based business) so would need phone/broadband and bank account. Is that easy to organise and how do i go about opening an account?

4.Is there someone who teaches spanish in the area?

5.How does one get regular supply of prescribed drugs?do we sign on with a local GP?

6.Anything else I should know thats important?

Thankingyou in advance.

It's all possible - suggest you do a lot of research & post individual questions on the forum. Go to lots of different estate agents - Engel & Volkers are very professional - no problem with getting pets over as long as you obtain a passport - might be difficult finding a renter who will accept them though unless you rent a Finca out in the countryside. A good solicitor is advised as the law in Spain is a minefield, there are some good ones plus rental companies and property services etc - found on this site (left hand side - Market Place - click on Property Services). If you are prepared to pay a fee everything can be arranged for you - depends on your circumstances. Another good site is
AngloINFO Balearics: living in and moving to Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, Spain. Hope this helps ...:)

As Michael said it is all possible, if you read through the threads in this section of the forum you will find the answers to many of your questions. Do ask more individual questions separately, you will probably get a better response.:D

In relation to pets - we have actually taken our dog on holiday with us by air - for details go to Pet Travel Scheme « Defra - basically it's very easy and cheap to go - just check your airline for the carrying of pets, must be in an approved box but basically it's just excess luggage and there are no restrictions on entering Mallorca - you just pick the crate up from the airport ! Much more difficult when you re-enter the UK - you must follow Defras instructions to the letter and follow an approved route - it's very expensive by air to return. You can also transport your pets on the various ferry routes - easier this way if your prepared for the drive.

Just picking up on couple of your questions -
Pets - we brought two cats with us by car through the tunnel then ferry from Barcelona. We had all the correct paperwork but nobody ever asked to see it.
Medicines - If you are going to be working here (legally!) you will need to register as self-employed and pay the Spanish equivalent of National Insurance. Its expensive (around 250 euros a month - fixed sum. Not a percentage) This gives full National health cover for you and your dependants. You need to know that if you are under pensionable age this is the only way of joining the Spanish Health service. The alternative which a large number of both Spanish and ex-pats do is keep stum about the work bit and take out private medical insurance. Once you have a prescription for the required medication you can take it to any Chemist and pay the going rate. Some drugs here are very cheap (eg Statins @ 2€ a month) others can be extremely expensive. You need to do your sums before you decide
