Lunch from the tapas menu.
Pa amb oli with roasted vegetables and an accompanying handful of salad leaves was more main course than tapa. A light main course, of course – and altogether fine for that, although the bread could have done with more tomato squished into it.
The chef’s selection of six tapas arrived in separate dishes on a “Lazy Susan”. There were meatballs, sausages, tortilla, peppers stuffed with a seafood mousse, stuffed jalapeno peppers and cheese croquettes. Now, OK, you know that much of this has been bought in from the catering wholesaler, rather than being made from scratch on the premises, but that’s pretty much the case everywhere, even in Andalucia. Even so, it makes a decent enough lunch, along with the bread and alioli – and you get to eat it in a nice little courtyard at the back of the restaurant.
