If you swim in the bay, do you suspect that someone has put some new rocks just below the surface to catch unwary swimmers?
In July, there were loads of massive boulders where I'd never seen them before.
I think I know why. Although there is almost no tide, the sea level in the bay can vary by about half a metre due to currents, wind and air pressure.
The rocks have always been there; it's just the depth that varies. In July, sea level was low.
