Little bird, based on our Ruta over last two weeks we can recommend three not to be missed. Bellaverde, fantastic selection of vegetarian tapas, Bar Rumbo is vey good and this year La Bodequita had the best selection and best wine. La Roda and TyM also worth a visit.

Certainly agree with La Bodequita and Bar Rumbo both have great tapas not just for the Tapas night. Also I think it is called Bar Juniors diagonally opposite La Bodequita.

There are so many good local bars to try with excellent value.

We went last night and went to es refugi and had a lovely hour spent listening to a guy and his friend singing and playing traditional spanish guitar me was fab . The tapas there was great , big choice beautifully presented , will definitely go next week also . Another good one as always was la roda where they cooked the tapas to order and was delicious with great friendly staff.
The guy in bar rumbo was not so friendly as usual he can be hit and miss ! we usually have a nice chat etc but last night he was having none of it ! My husband has now re christened it bar grumpo ! Saying this his tapas is lovely , really tasty and good choice , still worth a visit as his mood was quite amusing !

Alfonso grumpy!! Whatever next!!;)

Its a nice traditional local bar...worth going in on non TR days.

Lets support the locals if we can...

Is that the new one next to Bony? not heard any reports on that one yet!!

It's what used to be the Plaza (Chinese) next door to Maxim Bistro and run by Bruno from Laroc :).

We visited Bar Bellini quite a few times during our recent stay in July - staff were friendly, prices acceptable and space around each table to enjoy private conversations without feeling too close to other customers. Glad they have joined the tapas route, hope they do well.:)

He's probably got the hump because he has heard that El Ancla is closing. Whenever I've been out to PP he seems to spend more time in there putting his euros in Leo's one arm bandit than in his own place :)

Diabetic or coeliac ??

Great news for diabetics and ceoliacs.....Es Refugi are offering special tapas that are safe to eat :D:D.

Where is this bar, never heard of it?

It's on the left hand side as you head up from the square to La Roda - it was previously called 'Boca a Boca' and before that it was 'Es Refugi' as it seems to be again :)

Looking forward to trying it soon, we only went into 'Boca a Boca' a few times, but the bar is great, it is an 'older' style bar with a more traditional feeling, and from looking at their FB pages the food looks great and also they have live music which seems like it is just an impromptu event with singers and guitarists just turning up and playing!
Sparky's post did make me chuckle!! "Es Refugi are offering special tapas that are safe to eat":):):)
