Unfortunately we won't make it over this year, just a wee note to wish all you dudes who are there the very best and have a great time. Be careful you do not get too drunk and fall in a fire:), and keep well away from the bangers (fireworks) they're are not what we're used to, more like small artillary.

Although Nostalgia are usually closed on Mondays, they will now be open Monday 14th January (Sant Antoni week) at 6.30pm until late.
They will also be open during the day from 11am - 3pm on the 17th January for hot bacon or pork and stuffing baps.

Buen viaje amigos.

To all of you who are travelling out over the next few days i would like to wish you a safe journey and i am looking forward to meeting up with you, if not at the get together on Tuesday then around one of the fires, with a glass of something in hand (half full of course) ;);):D.

What restaurants would any of you recommend for the night of the fires? Anywhere special, exciting etc? Is the a la carte menu offered or is it a special menu?

As far as i know, generally the restaurants don't do special menus.
Marina Cafe are and you can see it on this thread, post #44, Nostalgia are having a BBQ outside and will also be offering a small a la carte menu inside. Some of the bars sell plates of food that you can cook yourself on the BBQ beside the bonfire. I have seen many locals bring their own food and cook it on the bars BBQ , nobody takes any notice as it's all part of the fiesta. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy it, it's great fun :D.

We arrived this morning, had a lovely lunch at the Nautica Club, looking forward to the rest of the week.:)

Sant Antoni

To all you lucky people who are in PP to celebrate Sant Antoni, have a wonderful time and please post your photos and comments wherever possible so your absent friends can enjoy the festivities (second hand)!

Can't remember the name, but would recommend the bar across from the car park (to the left as you walk up from the beach) great atmosphere, dancing and local musicians, they hardly speak a word of English which is all you need to know.

Mrs gers and I just in from a nice meal at the corinthian in the toon and plenty bangers around, far more than in pp smiddy!

Know what you mean! Had a dry start to New Year, got "can you come and pick me up call" from my daughtr at 3am. Lots and lots of bangers, but even at that they ain't as loud as the ones in PP. I would recommend you carry a spare pair of trousers, just in case.:)

Well the excitement is building, mounds of earth and wood are appearing all over the Port ;).

Have enjoyed looking through your pics, Sparky. Can't believe how big some of these bonfires are going to be. They seem so close to the buildings, and overhead cables etc.
Have a good time!
