Now the crowds are back, I'm afraid to say so are the pickpockets. A friend had her phone taken while in a bar in PP 2 nights ago. Keep your hands on your belongings.

Maybe take a burner/old phone if you need to keep in touch while out for the night and I've noticed the banking app on my phone allows me to set the maximum amount I can spend each day so you cant get cleaned out if someone goes around contactlessly using your card.

Be on Your Guard

Went in to the Church in Pollensa Town just after 11am this morning, donated via the entry box.

Was approached by 30 something male for change of 2 Euros. Thought this was odd and then realised we were being targeted. We were in a quiet side Chapel at the time.

Went in to one shop and then to the carpark where same approach made by 40 something male, change of 2 Euros, said No walked on looked round and first male was signalling to move away, waved hand to leave alone. By the way the Carpark is free.

Could have been looking for cash or jewellery we think.

Be aware. We were lucky. 30 something male had mask on left rist and carried straw hat.

The social media platforms have gone into overdrive to try to locate the alleged perpetrators of a wave of robberies of elderly people in the north of Mallorca, especially Pollensa.

“Two women of gypsy origin have assaulted my aunt. One is waiting in a small white car with the engine running while the other approaches the victim and tells her that she is not feeling well and starts to touch her neck and hands with a greasy substance with which she steals her bracelets and rings”, a relative of one of the victims told Ultima Hora.

Those affected have released an image of one the stolen jewels. [see picture on website]

If anyone recognises it or is offered to buy it illegally, they are asked to alert the Guardia Civil by calling 062.

https://www.majorcadailybulletin.co...ught-video-stealing-from-tourists-soller.html

The tourist saturation in the municipality of Soller has become a significant draw for pickpockets. With the start of the summer season and the influx of tourists, thieves are taking advantage of the crowded conditions. They have been particularly active in the Plaça de sa Constitució, the Puerto Soller, and even on the Soller train, often disguising themselves as tourists to blend in.
