Does anyone have any up to date pictures of the progress? Need a little boost to distract me from the horizontal rain in London this morning.

You can view it on the SeeMajorca webcam.

to anyone in .p.p at present.

Just wondering if the seafront road is pretty much prepared for the final tarmac.

It would need to be completed several weeks prior to easter otherwise there would still be a good old stench from the tarmac when people arrive at end of March. Not too good for the restaurants along front.

Progress

Hi

Does anyone know where the new block paving is up to on the prom road?
I can see on PP cam that the tarmacing has progressed well - no sign of paving though.
How far does Phase 2 go?

Regards

It isn't going any further along, or wasn't planned to, it has stopped at Ave Paris, just past Tolos, I think the plan was for the beach road up to there to stay open all the time, only the raised section to be pedestrianised at time during the day, is that right?

Yes sws97sdg that is correct. They are still finishing the lower end of the road and sea wall.

Hi , does anyone know if the marine road in P.P. will be tarmac'd at this stage ? if so will it be done before Easter ?

If you mean the stretch from Llenaire to the Avenida de Paris, then yes it will be tarmacked and hopefully before Easter. At the moment that section of the road is closed to traffic.

hi Lollipop,

Thanks for info. By the way what has been done to the road up to Paris ?

hi Debz1,

yep I have seen all of these in the early stage but no one has posted any pics for many weeks , so I do not know what the road is like around the Tolos area !

My understanding is that the stretch from the port roundabout to Ave Paris is complete by the way of semi-pedestrianisation using blocks as Sparkys photos show. The stretch from Ave Paris to Llenaire is in the process of being tarmacked and will be complete by Easter.

There have been numerous pics over FB which I'm sorry I have no idea how to post. I think a collective sigh of relief will be had by everyone when it's all done and us all in the south beach area can have a cracking summer.

Canny wait to speed along on my bike ;)

Thanks to everyone who responded & put up the pics. absolutely excellent .I have not seen the finished are in front of tolos.Job well done I think.

Looking at the webcam and wondering what the extra 'space' is between the cycle track and the road after Avenida Paris towards Llenaire ? Wonder if they are going to put some landscaping or something there to differentiate between the two areas ? Hard to tell on the webcam though so wonder if anyone is there at the moment to report back :)

Yeah, I was looking at that and comparing with the street view image. They have narrowed the road considerably and built on top of what was the cycle lane, what looks like a metre wide strip of tarmac and a half metre wide strip of blocks. So is this the new cycle lane? Seems a bit narrow, seeing as cyclist travel in both directions.

Some of it has been filled in, so i was thinking maybe that will be for seats and or bike stands and possibly the unfilled areas could be landscaped ;).

I haven't been down this week as yet but the cycle track is the same width all the way along. The extra bit seems to have sections left without blocks but with a pipe probably water sticking out which I think may be for plants /shrubs. This divides the road from the cycle track. I think the seats will go along the edge of the path before the cycle track.

That would be great if it is for plants as it will be good to have a division between the road and the cycle track, also make it look prettier :) Seats on the other side good as well which I think the original artists impression showed.
