The contract date should never have been as late as 4th may .Who in their right mind would have agreed & signed off that date on a contract starting 1 st November.

Remember the May day holiday starts Friday 29th April.

May Day is on a Sunday so should not affect the work at all. I think you are assuming that UK holidays apply ie Monday 2nd May is a public holiday, it is in some Spanish areas but as far as i know it's not here in Mallorca.

No Sparky,I think you miss my point. I mean that many parts of the uk , especially London, empty for the long weekend.Perhaps even to Majorca. And yes the work will be completed after the holiday weekend.

All the comments about when they should have started and when they should have finished are pointless, they have stated now and the important thing is that they will be finished when they said they would be, again with the negativity!!! From what I have seen on the various FB pages and on here I think the improvements are clear to see

Hi all,
We were out last week and during our morning stroll on Wednesday noticed a form of sealant being applied to half of the stretch in front of the Marina car park. Whether this is a trial of the afore mentioned 'resin' I don't know but now dried the only difference that I can see is that it has turned the concrete a darker grey which is hopefully less dusty.
Has anyone else noticed?

I checked it out this midday ( Opp the Xixell shop opp the parking )

They have obviously tried with one coat and further along with two coats. I prefer the bit with one coat. It will change after lots of people have walked on it. The light coloured stone strips look a lot better after the sealant has been applied.

I again can´t see what the problem is or why people, most of whom aren´t even here, are complaining.

Lets not forget that the work in the town end was finished weeks ago and only the Tamarills and Llenaire end has to be finished. It´s not as if the whole place is one big building site.

Also, and since Easter, it has been possible to drive all the way down from Llenaire into town.

And regarding complaints from tourists, where may I ask, were they staying ?.

The Galeon is some way away from the work, the Uyal opened with few clients, the Pollentia and Romantic are still closed and the Pollensa Park is 200 meters from the main road.

The latest news for those of you who aren´t here, is that the sea side part of the pavement is very near completion and on the land side, the digger is, as we speak, working in front of the Pollentia.

Hi Sparky,

As the 1st of May falls on a Sunday, the holiday has been moved to Monday the 2nd.

Personally, I wouldn´t be surprised to see work taking place over the next 4 weekends to make sure the deadline is kept.

We are looking forward to seeing it for ourselves when we are back..we have enjoyed looking at all the photos posted on here and FB and are surprised and delighted to see the progress made ( even if it is not quite finished ). when we left in January it looked like a complete disaster area and we could not see how on earth there was going to be any way they would complete what they have done so far so well done 👍😃

So will I be able to come into the bay from Alcudia tomorrow and drive right through past Cafe 1919 to Formentor Road? If not, I will drive via Pollenca.

You have two alternatives, either along the sea front or via the ring road.

No need to go to Pollensa first.

Kerb stones on the land side being put into position opposite the Hotel Pollentia.

All kerb stones on the sea side in position right up to the Llenaire "roundabaout" where the improvements will presumably finish.

They are laying cement very nearby, so hopefully the sea side will be finished Tuesday at the latest, sooner if they work over the weekend.

This will mean that the entire workforce will be able to concentrate on finishing the land side pavement.

Pinaret ( and others ) will be pleased to hear that the pavement next to Hotel Pollentia and Hotel Uyal will be slightly narrower therefore allowing more space for buses to park and unload their passengers.

Hi Molt ta for info.

here's hoping lots of car park space in height of summer.

Out this Saturday for 1 month. Really really looking foreward getting back to pp & especially to view all the good works.
