Is it still possible to pick up and get off the bus at Tamarells?

I don't think so, I think the busses use the ring road between the port and Llenaire with a slight diversion down to the Fergus Pollensa Park, where there is a new bus stop.:D

You beat me to it Lyn x

This has just been posted on FB by the Unio Mollera Pollencina. :-

FRONT WORKS: THE END OF THE FIRST PHASE. The workers of the company has just started this week cleaning of concrete and a layer of protective resin, but will continue until the end of May to install finishes and furniture. It also remains to be done in part by the Town Council: cleaning, painting road markings and pedestrian crossings do have high barriers to save.

There are four or five hotels /apartments along front from llenaire but as far as I can see only one (pollentia ) has a separate "cutting " for coaches .The rest of the hotels will have to have a good length of space hatched off for drop offs.I disagree with your thoughts about side road parking. Even the bumpy back road at back of uyal is stuffed in summer.

Pinaret, I really can´t understand your concern about the coaches and buses. Many of them are 12 seaters, not much longer than a large family car, and how pray, do the coaches cope with the hotels that are situated along the Pine Walk ?.

Take it from me, compared to Puerto Soller, Paguera, Palma Nova, Santa Ponsa, all the Palma "boutique" hotels, and many other tourist resorts, Puerto Pollensa´s front line is a god send for most bus drivers.

Hi Molt , long time no speak.Good to hear from you.

its called the formentor road.

Thank you.

I was obviously referring to where the front of the hotels are, as we all do with those on Paseo de Londres and Via Alemanya.

I wonder if it will prove to be the best idea widening the pavement on the landside all the way down to Tamarells.

I guess that most visiting pedestrians would naturally choose to walk on the beachside, and that the widening of the landside may prove to be ill-judged, particularly if it leads to parking issues spreading into the residential side-streets.

Can someone explain what bus stops have got to do with pavement along the front except they been moved.

Up to Sea.Bar.Is with the pressure washing now, this gets rid of the remaining dye and the stamp release powder ahead of the sealing coat, as well as any dirt etc!

I disagree with you lovemallorca regarding the landside as I think widening the pavements that side to be a great addition. The pavements on that side of the road were awful and virtually impassable in some places and it is only the landside at certain times of the day that get any shade. I remember a memorable day making our way from Llenaire with two young children to the old Toy Palace for a promised treat in the day and them nearly passing out because of the heat and being unable to walk in the shade on the landside. Stopping for an icecream and drink every so often to keep them going was preferable to them having to spend a lot of time walking in the road due to the awful pavements! Although now that Toy Palace has gone much to my sons disappointment maybe we won't have any of these jaunts anymore.. I just daren't let him see the Lego lurking in the back of a few seaside shops!! I am out 1st June for our first trip and I have to say I cannot wait to see it, I think on the webcams it all looks great, I can't comment on the finish or the management of the works but I can tell you that I see nothing but good coming out of the works and I am positive that the issues raised would not put most people off coming to this amazing part of the world.

The good news Is they are putting the sealant down and on the sea side the pavements have previously been jetwashed and they are now blowing any sand etc off before putting it on....on the down side from what we saw the pavement in front of the shops up to the roundabout has not been cleaned and now all the dirt and stains from various things have been sealed in too 😱😱

That just seems plain dumb!
Wish there was an unlike button.
Nobody there Cath to point out their massive error before they carry on all the way up?

Is there just no end to the continual bodge job of this pedestrianisation?

And yes, before anyone says, I am all in favour of it and want it to work but done properly for goodness sake.

those of you still in PP, when do you think the one way system becomes official ie when all permanent one way / no entry/ one way signs are up & groups of cyclists cannot rise on the road towards Llenaire ( nothing at all against cyclists ) Any thoughts ?

The signs last week, if not permanent, were very clear, and official now. I think that is why the Guardia were parked up by Tamarells on Tuesday. Many of the cyclists in PP were blatantly not adhering to the signs.. and either ignored or were abusive when it was pointed out
