I'm not so sure. Vehicles arriving into the Port either go down to the roundabout and either turn left to go to the centre or Formentor or right to go along the front. If vehicles were to come in along the front the roundabout would be a lot busier.

Whatever happens it will be easy to change in the coming year if this years solution doesn't work as the "planners" planned.

Which begs the question. Where will the one way end and the two way start ?

Molt

On second thoughts maybe the Alcudia to Port will be the best solution as it's pretty difficult to get into the port if you miss a turning. The last feasible one is the Guardia Civil turning.

I still think though that it will all depend on how TIB organise their bus routes.

Just had a gander down to the front to check out the finished product so far. I now agree that the best solution will be the Alcudia - Port way, as it will make it a lot easier for buses to stop at the bus stop and shelter.

Buses delivering tourists to the glass bottom boats can turn into the Stay entrance and turn around there to carry on to the roundabout.

I see what was obviously supposed to be a parking/loading bay opposite Colonya bank has been filled in and is now part of the pavement.

I would imagine that some of the parking area will be reserved for delivery lorries as will the lower end of Carrer Monjes which is now a dead end.

I would also imagine that the bottom end of Carrer El Cano will remain 2 ways as it is now.

I also reckon that the 2 way will start where Torre Blanca is, allowing people to drive down from Joan XXIII to the front and then along it to park just past Tolo's and beyond.

We shall see !

If, and quite possibly, the two way starts at the park opposite the Guardia Civil, I would guess that the road leading to the front, i.e. Calle Xarxa, will have to be extended so that it joins the roundabout on the ring road.

If not, there will be quite a few accidents with the present setup.

I think we should all wait and see what happens when finished. Remember only part is being completed and then work will recommence in November.

I agree, although they are bound to finish up to where the pavement has been demolished, which is quite a long way up the Paseo (Tamarells)

This morning I had a coffee in Los Faroles, who confirmed that the traffic flow will be Alcudia - Port.

They are obviously very pleased the work has been nearly finished and are happy with the end result, or what it will be when terminated.

In my opinion traffic from Alcudia to PP is definitely best, at least aesthetically as has been said before it gives by far the best view when entering the port.
It was definitely my preferred choice.

A good sales pitch I think!

More pictures on FB, the new path looks nearly complete up to la Gola bridge and the are now digging up the path in front of Tolos!!! wonder how far they will get, perhaps they will stop at Avenue Paris.

They have let that man loose with the digger again 😱😱😱...I hope they do something with the stretch of pavement between the park and Sea Bar that is desperate to be sorted .

The latest news (don´t quote me on this), is that this year they are planning on getting up to Llenaire (Hotel Galeon).

Wonders never cease !

Below is a translation of this latest newspaper report :- La constructora rechaza el plan de dividir las obras del Moll en dos fases - Diario de Mallorca.

As i have said before i don't why there is all this fuss because i understood that the work would be done in 2 stages each from lasting from November until May .

The construction rejects the plan to divide the work in two phases Moll.
The contractor informs the Consistory that is able to complete the project on schedule initially.

New trouble ahead under semipeatonalización works that are currently running on the first line of Port de Pollença. The contractor of the project, INCOC, located in the Andalusian city of Jaen, registered yesterday written in the municipality of Pollença by informing the institution that his intention is to continue with the work of a stretch to meet the periods specified in the project. in this way, the builder rejected the proposal released last week by the consortium bag Tourist Accommodation, entity representing the hotel industry, and the City pollencí that the company raised the need to completely paralyze works next April not to interfere with the tourist season in order to resume next winter. During the meeting on Thursday, the delegate in the Balearic Islands of the construction said that the proposal to consult the heads of the company and this week informed of the decision. Finally, the response was recorded yesterday and runs contrary to municipal and business interests of the municipality direction. The Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning Pollença, Tomeu Cifre Bennàssar (Junts Avançam), confirmed yesterday that the construction is not the work of paralyzing work in April to resume next winter. "A failure to read the written extensively in principle the company wants to fulfill the contract and finish the work in the months planned," he said. The INCOC awarded also submitted a draft implementing temporalized in which it undertakes to provide more workers machinery to work in order to finish within schedule. It is recalled that the execution time is six months, so that the work will last at least until May, when many tourist shops Moll have started the season. The hotel had expressed fears that the works were still underway at the beginning of the tourist season. Finally it seems to be so.

I assume as far as where the bay road starts because that's where the one way system will begin.

Well maybe just as far as Llenaire then, the plans seem to have changed a lot over the many years that this has been ongoing, i am just going to wait until it's actually finished .

Maybe you could find out more and let us know Molt .

P.S, there are links to the plans on this thread somewhere if you would like to have a browse, not being an architect, i don't understand them very well.

As I previously mentioned, I was told by the site foreman that this year they will get to and stop at Llenaire where the Hotel Galeon is.

There were no if's or but's.

Apparently from La Gola the work will be far easier as there are not as many shops and bars where water had to be connected again, etc etc.

Will try and find out more, as generally, the people in the know are the people doing doing the work.

Except in my household.
