Will they lay the pavement resin in the first phase, or will this be done when all the pavements have been layed at the end of the project.?
It could be they use the same type of resin they used in the square around trees when they
Removed the steel grates.?

I'm out next Thursday and looking forward to living the dream and hope it's not a nightmare.

Resin will be painted on after the pavements are all finished, and definitely this year.

Apparently it's a clear liquid which will give the pavements a slight shiny look.

You can now join the paseo by car next to the Sea Bar.

Just come back from taking a walk along the front to take a look at the new pavement. I must say that if the brief was to provide something that looks as cheap and nasty as possible then they have scored a perfect ten.

Fair enough but is that before the top layer of resin has been added or is that yet to be done though?
I don't suppose this type of surface will ever look as good as quality slabs but at least it shouldn't break with vehicles parking on it as slabs may.

If done properly I think that a resin finish in the right colour can look good. Suppose we should wait until it's totally finished before we judge too much?

There was much disruption last week whilst we were there and it was impossible to walk on the seafront from Tolos down to the harbour. But they seem to be getting on quickly with the work. Impressed with the extra width of the pavements but not with the finish as it is at the moment. We can only hope that as has been mentioned earlier, a decent finish is applied to enhance the appearance. Only time will tell. Can't quite fathom what route the buses will take in the future either. Know they can run down the front from Llenaire end but which way do they go on their return to Alcudia? And will the terminus return to the Harbour, or is it staying in the road at the back of the Church? Anybody enlighten me?

Starting to lay the path in front of the webcam now :)

Does anyone know when/if the concrete benches on the sea side are being replaced?

This has just been posted on FB by the UMP.

Small news of the work of the first line.

The new street lights, in the section between the rotunda of the port and the street elcano, I light up the ride, and it has been installed a line of light that illuminates the construction zone and the sections in which the new street lamps are installing.

Tonight they were preparing the holes for the trees that are starting to stand by tomorrow morning. We communicate those responsible for the work that after the trees begin to finish the sidewalks detailing the work and applying the resins of finished.

There seems to be a lot of doom'n'gloom regarding this around at the moment. If I remember it was the same last year with the hotel La Golleta. (sp??).

Anyway, I for one am looking forward to seeing what has been doen so far in a couple of weeks and am even more looking forward to the finished article in July.

I have absolutely no doubt that this will be a terrific change to the south beachfront.

"...and applying the resins of finished."

So the colour is in the resin [pictures #267, pge 18]. Anyone know what was chosen? Personally hope its the pinky one!

Nice pic pretty polle. I think that it will all look good.

Has anyone figured how the parking will work along the beach.
One lane for parking along the beach, one lane for driving through, one lane for coachs stopping at all the hotels along the front ( eg bellamar, romantic etc) otherwise the traffic will be stopped whilst the coaches deliver the tourists.

is there width enough for 3 lanes ??

I assume that parking on the land side of the front will be gone . Will they then have to park on all the side roads up to the by pass ?

does anyone know the plan

From the plans, parking will be on the land side parallel to the kerb, cycle lane on the sea side, so just one road section

Pretty Polle - by the time the shops put all their postcard/hat/sunglasses/sun tan stands on the pavement and the bars add all the extra tables and chairs that they can and then add in the pedestrians you won't see the pavement to see what colour it is anyway :D

The PPB (Puerto Pollensa Bulevar) takes shape nicely ... :)

More concrete pouring ...

The width of the road before Avda Paris ( coming from Alcudia ) is 10 meters.

From what I understand, the road surface, when finished, will be at the same level as the pavement, which should make things easier for buses, etc.

I dont think thats what the plans show!

Below is a rough translation of an ajuntament post on FB, it looks like temporary asphalt ramps are going to be laid to make it easier for wheelchair/pushchair users. I was told that eventually the road and pavements will be level so dropped kerbs will not be needed

Apart from this from Sparky, I have been told that the end result will be very similar to Paguera and Arenal where the road and the pavement is at the same level.

We shall see, said the blind man.
