Pub Imperial looked very busy last week

Even with the worlds worst Elvis in there !! Saw him elsewhere before so avoid anywhere he is playing !

Elvis

Ha Ha. If you think he's the worst Elvis you should call in to the Ora Playa appt htl. The guy they had in there last Friday, 'Elvis' from Birmingham, makes Elvis at the Imperial seem like the real thing!

The lad that does that act in the I mperial gave up a very good job to do that act,it is meant to be dreadful, he can in fact do a very good impersonation but chooses to make it bad because he found the punters prefer to laugh.

The first Time I saw "Elvis" in the imperial, I though he was dreadful, till I realised thats his act. Hes a great entertainer and a friendly bloke. I was in Brismarine last friday when he was singing, and heard a family of Hoorays commenting on him. They really should get out more, one actually said "He makes me sick, I wish he would just go back to his council estate. I made doubly sure I got him to give them a wave and a song when I went to watch him.
As for Simbads, Ive nevcer had a bad mea there, Maria is always friendly. Maybe its cos Im a geordie and she went to Uni in Newcastle and was treated well by strangers when she was alone in a strange country, but I cant fault her or Simbads.

Bring back Rolie I say.

If we could only "Turn back time" Who sang that??

Just to report that Rolie is keeping well and keeping South Wales entertained!!

Gordon, it was Cher ;):D.

Thanks Sparky, as soon as I posted I remembered, :o It certainly worked for (C)her

Are there any other places we would like to turn back time for?? Reminisces needed!!

May be a new thread needed??

Only just read this thread. I think its hoorays that make me sick. Im from a council estate and I was actually born in a prefab, which we shared with a rat until my father killed it. About my father, he served with the Green Howards in N Africa, Sicily and was present on D Day. He also came from a poor background as did my mother. Getting a bit long winded here, but that type of person really gets my goat. Anyway to sum up, this council house kid has got a BA. Among my friends I can count, a QC, professor, doctor, headmasterand teachers. My son is a qualifed engineer and my daughters a teacher, and guess what I'm VERY proud of my roots.
Wish Id have heard them, I would have had a little word in their small minded little ears.:)

This thread is from 4 years ago, so as i don't think there is anything to be gained from resurrecting it, i will now close it.
