We are now booked for the Daina Apartments, and are very apprehensive after reading quite a number of poor reviews - any words of reassurance?!

Mairi

Don't think I can PM you yet till you have more posts and off thread a bit but here goes...

A big plus with the Daina apartments is the location everything is so close by. You can access their private pool on the front. Unfortunately we were there during the building works and I have to say that this has devalued them somewhat, especially the terraces at the rear. While the apartments were clean enough, they were also in need of a bit of renovation. If there are problems the hotel should sort it out with no problems. They did for us.

Adios

Dave

Great news about the Sis Pins. We diverted to the Miramar for this June but we're definitely going to check out the re-launched Sis Pins with a view to a September booking. From the web site it looks like there are a few minor changes such as prices per person and not per room + rental charges for things like the safety deposit box (all free, returnable deposit under Globespan). No biggie though. What's not totally clear is the booking policy for the much sought after sea view rooms. This changed from year to year with Globespan e.g. Sat to Sat only, phone booking only until this (fateful) year. Looking forward to getting the answers in person in a few weeks time!

does anyone know the sis pins website details or email address please?

Sis Pins contact details

Sandrad: Have a look at the previous page on this thread. The SeaCaptain posted the links for the Sis Pins

Just spent a lovley week in Puerto Pollensa and there is now a notice outside Sis Pins saying it is opening 12 June and they are now taking bookings. It still looks very much closed up though!

It is not really closed up, they were steam cleaning all the paving this morning & the boarding has been taken down, part of the solarium is being re cemented, the rooms are being prepared, the hedge has been cut as has the bouganvilla. The green canopies are also up & the glass of the front door was being polished 2 hours ago. You can go inside to book. Things are progressing well

Reservation blues

No reply from the Sis Pins to my booking enquiry email of 3 days ago :(
Perhaps they're too busy with the re-furb to answer
Maybe a phone call would be better ....

I got a reply from Sis Pins within 48 hours and a reply from La Singala in less than 4 minutes!!! Good service or what!

We also have had no reply from the Sis Pins. We can't book flights until we know what rooms are available. Perhaps phoning would be best.
Does anyone know if they are still bringing back the Saturday to Saturday rule for sea-view rooms?

I've just spoken to Antonia at the Sis Pins and booked a week in September. They aren't imposing the Sat to Sat rule for sea view rooms and so I've gone for Fri to Fri :). They're also happy (at this point) for you to nominate a favourite room, floor etc and they will try to accommodate. She also confirmed that Mr Biblioni is still the general manager and that most of the staff have stayed on :). The number to ring is 00 34 971 86 70 50

They take a 20% deposit now with the rest at the end of the stay

Miramar in less than two weeks time so interesting to compare. Sis Pins is retaining fridges in the room + the very useful ice machine on the 1st floor :D

Seis Pins

Heard rumour that Seis Pins has been sold and should open leter this year

Webbo - the weather warming up now - it's safe to come out of hibernation

on our morning walk yesterday, all the redecoration seemed to have been done, tables, chairs & umbrellas installed, looked very welcoming ( esp as now back in cool, grey UK)

so is the sis pins now fully open? It looked so sad all boarded up. left an empty space and totally changed the feel of that stretch

SisPins

Friday evening they had what appeared to be an official opening party for private guests, so I woul imagine all is up and running now. Will have a proper look today and post results.Place looks fantastic as it always used to.:D
