SKY DIGITAL - Do we keep our existing digi card ?

Is it best to keep your existing Digi Card and not inform SKY that we have moved to PP (we will have a years redirected mail), or is it easy enough to buy a completely new digi system when we arrive in PP ???
What is the standard cost for dish, digi box and card and is it easy to get connected with a fresh subscription ?

I have heard all sorts of different advice regarding this so advice from anyone who has been though it themselves would be really helpful.

If you tell Sky that you are moving to PP and taking your card, they will cut you off as they are not licensed to broadcast in Spain.
Your card will operate in Mallorca, but if it has been out of the digibox for a time, you may need to phone them to send a signal to it so you can use it. DO NOT TELL THEM YOU ARE IN SPAIN.
There are systems that you can buy but whether they are able to offer you the full or partial Sky package, I don't know

I assume you are not going to continue with your UK monthly subscription. If this is the case your current Sky card will pick up limited programmes (at no cost) whether it is used in your current box (taken out from UK) or if used in a new box. From my experience Panasonic boxes tend to be the best but there are a number of types some of which are better than others ... the larger the dish the better. If you are intending to keep up your subs and want to watch (for example) the football and movies then you will need to take out your existing box as the card will have been dedicated to your specific box. In this case do not inform Sky - they will cut you off. There are a number of web pages which provide this information and it is possible to programme your Sky handset so you can pick up the UK regional programmes of your own choice.

I think we will be cancelling our current Sky subscription just before we move out so I'll just keep hold of my existing box and card.
