Then a bit further on a fairly large snake slithered across the path right in front of us  !!!)

Does anyone know what sorts of snakes do you get in Mallorca?? I have seen small squashed ones on the road between LLenaire and Pollensa before.

I don't think there are any poisonous ones are there??

There are a couple of different ones I think, one is a water snake see those in ponds etc, and one quite big one, 3ft long, saw one up in the hills above Orient a few years ago, not poisonous, anyone know their proper names, and don’t say Sid.

The one we saw in Boquer was about 3ft long! I'm not afraid of snakes as had one as a pet when I was little...my tomboy phase !!

But this chap was big so I didn't hang around to se if he bit:eek:

Ah ha. ... and that ghost was really scarey too wasn't it debz! Now, back to that puppy in the rocks ....!;)

She started it teacher! Or did I? LOL! Best mates again at playtime don't worry. Of course I believe her - she's taller than me so I have to! LOL!;)

Well as all three of you know, you are all taller than me but just to clarify Bella it is "The Puppy in the Mountain" ;);) and Debs i can't wait to get back home and make sure he is still there, i hope he isn't afraid of snakes, ME, i am petrified of the things so i won't be doing any country/mountain walking .

Small but beautifully put together Sparky :p

Think its just adders and another type whose name escapes me, but neither are poisoness

ADDERS!!!!..I thought they were venomous ..although thankfully rarely deadly

You may be right, I dont know much about snakes(or anything really) but some reliable walker person assured me that snakes of the non human variety were no problem in Mallorca.having said that Id run from a slow worm1;)

We stay at Duva and me and my son have great fun trying to catch the water snakes in the ponds. I actually think snakes are totally cool. Much maligned and misunderstood creatures. (Well, apart from the one-eyed trouser variety!).
