Might have seen you there Paul, when we stayed in the Habitats when the kids were small, they used to spend hours fishing in the pond for the fish, we often saw the snakes darting around from under the bridges, completely harmless of cause

Snakes in MENORCA

We have a couple of nice photos of a metre long snake taking a walk along the road near the cliffs in Calle en Porter 2 weeks ago. It raised it's head each time I got too close with the camera. A passing motorist was good enough to stop and let it cross the road. It was green with two stripes along the back, so not a viper. I'll post a photo if possible. Any ideas what it could be?

Yes, ladder snakes are very common in Menorca, I understand that they are not so much here in Mallorca, they are not venomous. I once came across a family of ladder snakes in Menorca very close to the main road from Mahon to Cal n Porter

Yes, thanks for the tips. Now confirm it must have been a rat eating 'ladder snake' from photos seen on another site, which match my own.
