Staying in a villa on the old Llenaire road

Hi,

I'm new to this site so hopefully have posted this in the correct place.

I've booked a villa in May that looks like it could be on the old Llenaire road close to the Llenaire area. It's difficult to tell the exact location given on the resort map.

My question is, is it a walkable distance into the centre and is it advisable at night? It looks like little country roads in the surrounding area.

I love PP, I can't wait!!

Hi mearsy and welcome!

It's difficult to say without knowing how far out in the countryside you are, or what your level of fitness is!

Llenaire itself is about a 15-20 minute walk from the centre (someone put me right if I'm wrong) and if you're in one of the many villas dotted around that area then it might be advisable to drive in at night.

I'm sure there are lots of others who can give advice as well!

Thanks for the welcome Jane, I've been trying to find the road on Google earth to check out the area but the road is not marked or I'm rubbish at Google earthing!

My level of fitness is fine, I just had visions of having to walk up dark narrow roads diving into bushes when cars come zooming along!

Unfortunately, unless you are only one or two roads back from the coast road, thats probably what you will be doing! A little bit risky - but then Im a townie at heart and not too keen on unlit and unpaved walking areas! Jane was right re the 20 minute walk to the port, but thats from The Galeon Hotel on the coast road, so add on longer once you work out where you actually are! Good luck!!

Might be better if you can give the name of the Villa as someone might recognise it from that!

We used to stay at the Villa Holland just a few doors from the Hostal Galeon and it is a 20 minute walk. A nice walk at night or in the morning when it is cooler - but can be a bit hard in the afternoon. Lovely area to stay though!
