I seem to remember a post a while back which suggested that tango's might be closing in november. My son has just returned from PP, he spoke to the owner who said they are closing but only for refurbishments which is good news.

We were told they are closing for two years as they are going to build apartments above it and when fineshed will reopen. Will really miss it on the square.

Don't despair,

I seem to recall that someone told me they were taking Os Cachelos site as a temporary measure during refurbishment. For those who don't know it's next to the church in the square opposite to La Piazza.

BonysLad :D

Yeah but...nobut...the waiter in O'Lume said that Tango were still negotiating a deal...

Tango - Latest News

Spoke to Manalo last night

He is working in Trio

Tango WILL reopen on the existing site, but because of the no building in the summer rule it will not be before 2009

It was nice to see him and to confirm he would be back

He laughed when I thanked the lord it wasn't going to end up a MacDonalds

Re: Tango - Latest News

I was out in PP for the week of San Antonio & a very reliable source told me that Tango's were going to relocate to C'an Pep this summer. Nice place if it's true!

Re: Tango - Latest News

Just had a very pleasent long weekend in PP, very sunny and warm for Feb, walked past Tango's OMG its just a pile of rubble, also saw tony from positos he is opening in 2 weeks time they are doing a bit of decorating at the moment, roll on easter missing PP already

Tango

Tango is now FLATTENED ............. not even a pile of rubble ........ just flat, bare ground .......... brought a tear to my eye

Nooo!!

Such a shame! :(
Tango's the best restaurant EVER!! :D

tango,s

Hi, Just heard yesterday that tango will be opening around the bay in cella sa vostra, but don't know a timescale. course its a bit out of town but maybe we could get minolo to put on a minibus and pick up all along the front.:)

This is interesting is it is right, does anyone know where cella sa vostra is?

Cellar Sa Vostra is quite a way around the bay - it would be a long walk from PP. It's not far from Ca'n Cuarassa. I always wanted to try Cellar Sa Vostra but somehow never managed to fit it in. I do know it closed down and then re-opened again.

Hmmm...very interesting!

Jane:)

Far Away?

It shouldn't have to go so far away!
Couldn't it take over one of these many Tex Mexs that seem to be overruling the place?!:(
KEPP TANGO!!! :D

spelling :S

^^yes, i meant Keep :p^^:o

Tango

As far as I know it is true.:) I'm glad its come out at last I didn't want to spread rumours just incase it was wrong. ;)Though I did hear it from a very reliable source.

 Well I suppose some real stalwarts will make the trip... personally, not sure I would walk half the way to Alcudia when there are other - in my opinion - better places nearby...

Sorry Tango fans - not to say that I didn't like it - 'twas a PP institution of course and a must during any 2 week stay... but I just think that there is better food on offer elsewhere in the Port :o Was always dubious about the speed that everything was ready. Especially the ubiquitous baked potato - suggests pre-cooking on a grand scale I am afraid. :( At O' Lume you have to wait but everything is fresh - as it should be.

Couldn't be beaten on value and service though and I sincerely hope it returns to the centre of town in the future - hopefully with a new, updated menu. ;)

Couldn't agree with you more Lala.

As you say Tango's was a PP institution and a place we used to go to quite a lot when the children were young, mainly because they loved the corn on the cob and the chance for a little dance :)

I hope it's a success in it's new (temporary?) position but I can't imagine it will be nearly as busy.
