Glad to hear that Tangos may be opening this year, as a family we have always enjoyed it and recommended their vegetarian meals lots of times here, but I fear we may venture down there this year to see them, I agree with lala and others that it will be worth trying others as the food has always been good value but not the best available,and I fear it was the whole package that had people going back year after year, its location, lovely garden area, moving it may lose all of its appeal. Look forward to when it returns to its rightful place in the square.

I've just been past Ca Vostra, and there were men on the roof trying out a sign on the roof saying "Tangos". It's not been put up yet, but it looks like it's happening.

please can anyone tell me what is happening, been going PP for 25 years and was last there in Nov 07 when Tangos was a building site with nothing else there! where will we find this in the summer of 2008?:

I was out in PP for the week of San Antonio & a very reliable source told me that Tango's were going to relocate to C'an Pep this summer. Nice place if it's true!

Tango has re-opened at Ca Vostra, just past Llenaire on the road to Alcudia.
You can't miss it, there is a boat on the roof!
Friends have eaten there and say it is as good as ever.

Went to Tango at their new location last week. Luckily we live in Pinaret so we can walk there!

The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated and the lighting is just right. It is also heated which is a great plus out of season. We received a very warm welcome and a complimentary glass of cava. The older chap with grey hair who "retired" last year is back again for another season.

The menu of the day is the same as before and as is normal everywhere outside the summer season, the quality is much higher.

We had a really enjoyable evening and will certainly return. I'm not sure if the normal summer clientele will want to go that far out of town though so it will be interesting to see how the summer season pans out for them.

I actually feel quite sad about that. My husband put in the a/c when it was the original Ca Vostra, many years ago , stayed there whilst I was at home in good old UK with the three children. This was before it even had the front terrace.
It was a real local restaurant with stacks of character and the first place we tried the fish cooked on top of the pig for starters and main course.
When it went to the Mediteranean it lost all is character, and then we were quite pleased when it reverted again to Ca Vostra.
But now Tangos? Oh well, another one bites the dust.

It's on the main coast road between Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia - just past Llenaire. You'll know you've missed it when you see Ca'n Cuarassa restaurant!

Tango is along the coast road in Llenaire going towards Alcudia from PP.

My friend and I took our two young daughters last week and were delighted to see that the food was still as good, the restaurant was beautiful, and we were so warmly greeted by Manolo, Paquita, Marcos and the rest of the staff (most of whom were in the old Tango). Paquita seemed happy to have her two little dancing partners back (they have loved dancing with Paquita for the past 8 years) and danced most of the night to their favourite Tango singer.

The restaurant was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Definetly worth a visit or two.

So pleased it's doing so well.

Decided to give Tangos a try in the new location, as never did in the old one. We were initally very pleased that they hadnt altered the interior too much, but we did feel that it lacks any traditional charm.
It is very popular however, so its another personal choice restaurant, but its sad to see so many restuarants losing their tradition and doing a little bit too much clowning around. Yes, I know, thats In My Opinion, but I loved taking the children to these types of restaurants knowing that the Spanish/Mallorcan ways were alive and kicking there. Its becoming just a little bit harder to find these days.
