Never done La Ruta del Tapeo. How does it work?

In the past there was a lot of local bars operating the Ruta del Tapeo and you could coast from one bar to the next enjoying a drink and a tapa for roughly 2 to 3 euros each time.
Fewer bars take part these days but La Bodeguita has always had a great offering of tasty tapas on the counter on tapas route night (usually Thursday) . You can usually go to the bar counter, pick up a small plate and select the tapas that you fancy and also order a small drink (usually wine/beer/soft drink) & pay according to what you have chosen.

I should stick to things you're more familar with, like walking from PP to cala san vincente in the wifes Pink espadrilles.

I might be in old Goat territory age wise ,But I still have my memory.
