The Continueing Tackyisation of the Port

The situation with Sail and Surf was complicated to say the least. Gottfried has explained to the press that he had an annual concession with an agreement for its extension for four years (on a sort of rolling basis I guess). He sought a reduction in the tax paid because it was way higher than that paid by similar operations. This was accepted but then he had to go through a new tender process for the contract to be modified. It then all got lost in town hall red tape and the elections, so that there was a muddle in May. There is more to it, but it does get too complicated. The new tender process has been formally announced and will close on 6 July, and should be a formality. Basically, it was all a bureaucratic bungle.

Isn't this now off the original subject, thought sparky would have got her big red editing pen out by now. Anyway, the sign isn't tacky IMO and I think the port is actually(finally) moving a bit more upmarket again

you dont think an advertising board covering the whole front of a building isnt tacky on the beutifull pinewalk

I was refering to the noticeboard first mentioned, and yes the villa parade board is dreadful. but then again that place on the pine walk has been a shambles for years now
