Similar to the May edition, a selection of eateries from our September trip

The Good - IRU-very rarely mentioned on the forum. We had the menu del dia, fresh, beautifully cooked, presented and served. 15 euro for 3 courses, i had breaded brie with blueberry sauce, fillet of hake with peppers and potatoes and finished with a cointreau custard. absoulutely delicious, not massive portions, but enough with 3 courses. Wine list is massive.

The bad - Cafe Algar, shame because i love it here for an evening drink, but on our first night we arrived late and just wanted to have a glass of vino in the square and soak up the atmosphere, we ordered a pizza to share and it was rubbish, burnt, tasteless and like cardboard. Service was good, just not the place to go for Pizza in PP!(tried Laroc later in week for takeaway, Glass of good red whilst chef cooked and sang in the open kitchen. It had lots of mussels, prawns and other seafood and was delicious)

The Fantastic, this coverted position went to Stay in my May post (and it was excellent again this trip) but our "fantastic" for september, was mixed tapas at the bottom of cavilari steps in a place called Piazzer (spelling might be wrong, but something like this with 2 z's) Great location, the tapas all home made (no mccains deep fry calamari here!). It was 11 euro for the tapas and we had 6 or 7 tapas, tortilla espanola, abalonjas, mushrooms cooked in herbs, cod fritter, calamari, spicy chicken thing. We also had bead alioli and olives and a couple of beers. Lovely location, service. First time we have ventured to pollensa to eat and it was a really nice change to the port. Got the bus there and taxi back. The added bonus is that it is a bit cooler to walk the steps and of course alll the lovely shops are open till late (i love "ideas" on the steps and a shop reccomended to me on the forum "enesat" a deli for mallorcan goodies).

Others retsaurants worthy of a mention are Centric for excellent value and l'illa cafe for coffee or snacks with free wifi.

Now need to book next trip to try Corbi mar and llonja as a week is NEVER enough...............:)
