Called in to see the Hustlers last night, not that busy about 11 o'clock, maybe 25 people in the bar. My own opinion is they miss Chris who was a fantastic guitar player and singer, Guillermo ( frightened to say this Lorenzo) is a great musician but preferred Chris,s voice. Anyway, in the second half, they announced a guest player and it was John Lynam who I have heard a lot about but have never seen. What a difference, he played lead guitar and sung, his son played drums and the place filled up. Probably couldn't afford him, but what a line up it would be with him in place full time. I will be making a point of going to see John Lynam again as he is obviously a very talented musician.

Perhaps they need to sign up Roger Daltry while he's there:D

My husband would be gutted if that happened & he missed it. he's already miffed that Roger's been spotted in PP & we're not out there. if anyone sees him again please post a photo - thanks!

The Hustlers

Sounds like another great evening at O'Hara's with The Hustlers!

I really loved Chris Anthony's voice and musical skills too but he left the band and is happily settled in France with his lovely wife Jilly now.

I really appreciate the way Guillermo has guided the band through a time of change. New musicians now form part of the band (Marcos on bass and Fernando on keyboard) and they have introduced lots of new material too. I think it is fair to say that all bands have to evolve and try out new material.

Guillermo also matches the material with the crowd really well - outside of the main season, the band play a lot more Spanish rock numbers to suit the crowd which tends to be more made up of locals.

And as an extra bonus The Hustlers regularly invite guest musicians to join them for various songs. John Lynham is another amazing musician and singer.....What could be better! :D
