I haven't added a link as I thought the adverts might be a problem?

The sea was very choppy earlier with quite high breakers. At the moment the tide is right up to Tamarells Cafe, is this the normal spring tides or exceptional?

Any pictures Tonysl, would love to see the sea like that!

I have some pics SWS but I haven't got any means of downloading them whilst we are here. I'll get something to you when I get back to UK.

Blimey!! it was high wasn't it . I don't remember ever seeing it that far up.

Spring Tides happen twice a month ,however as the Med has very little tidal action the current high water levels we are experiencing are down to low atmospheric pressure.

Yes and to show how high the water levels are i read yesterday that the Ses Fonts Ufanes at the foot of Puig Tomir have erupted 6 times so far this year, some years it doesn't happen at all. Here is a video of it :- Ses Fonts Ufanes - YouTube

I'll go along with Lollipop, it's an atmospheric thing creating extremely rough seas. The bay of Alcúdia right now has high waves, the wooden jetty near Sunwing for picking up people for the boat trips has disappeared. Totally smashed to pieces.

You can see the effects on the See Mallorca webcam as well. Although the weather today looks a lot better than it has for the past few days. Let's hope it's an improving picture.:)

It is definitely warming up temps peaked at 26c earlier :D, i am thinking of dusting off my flip flops ;).
