You could try "Fill a bowl with ice and place it in front of a room fan. The breeze over the slowly melting ice will send chilled water vapor into the air in front of the fan. Combined with the fast-moving air, you'll get a nice, chilly breeze." The slowly melting ice maybe a challenge though

We have done this in the past but the ice melts in about 5 mins in summer, strange that it lasts much longer in winter .

It has been uncomfortably hot the past few day and the ceiling fan isn’t cooling the bedroom down enough. I don’t like the A/c on at night so my best trick is to fill a spray water bottle and spray my face during the night ... then a blast from a little fan by my bed! Bought it from Amazon and it really is incredibly powerful. I even had to go under the covers last night at one point
