It must have changed because it now says 70f/21c Partly cloudy.

I suspect something got lost in translation, it probably should have said fog or mist .

The weather observation comes from Palma Airport so it will be based on their half hourly reports.When the visibility drops below certain parameters they have to report the cause of the obfuscation. It could,as Sparky says,be fog or mist but there are many other causes such as sandstorms,snowstorms or haze.Smoke is just one of them.
If you were to check the weather next Saturday I think you would find that most British airport would be reporting Smoke.
