god i love this forum.. it brightens up a day of number crunching :)

Its always a bit daunting when you have always used a company that you are happy with

Too true WS.....I am devastated to recently learn that Palmair are no longer flying from the Channel Islands direct to Palma!!:(. Although it was pretty expensive, for the reasons I mention above, thought it was worth it!! What am I going to do!!?? Catching connecting flights is a real headache.

Oh Favie, my sympathy. At least the only sacrifice i have to make by flying with Thomson from Bournemouth is a lesser baggage allowance. You will still be making the pilgrimage to PP though wont you??
:)

Hopefully WS. Lady holding apartment until I find some decent flights (she will alert me if someone else shows interest for my dates)
Didn't mind paying Palmair £700 + as it was so convenient on & off plane in two hours...BLISS, done that for years so hate the thought of flying North only to head South again LOL. Fingers crossed someone else will take over the route SOON

Yes I like to use Bournemouth airport but Palmair are no longer flying form there either ( only doing Cruise travel now ) so we will be useing Thomsons as well but I find no problem with them I dont think 20kg is too bad after you have flown with Ryanair a few times it seems like masses !!

Hi and Welcome Copper,

Yes, a real shame about Palmair and all the redundancies that were made a real nice lot of crew staff that had been there for years too and the pilot we had last year came out to the departure lounge and explained how he was determined to get us to Palma when there was the ash problem, told us he was going back to air traffic control to suggest a new air path and he got us there, could have kissed him as just about every airport in Britain had cancelled all flights on that particular day...it certainly was always a joy to fly with them.:)

Hi and welcome to the forum Copper.
Yes it is sad about Palmair, I have booked the sat am thomson flight on 6th Aug. At least it gets you to PP an hour earlier. Although my sons were sad they will miss out on breakfast on board.
:)
