Back to reality after fab two weeks in PP, with hubby and two girls.

First stop was Golden Lion for lunch and a catch up, Pam amb oli with cheese and ham delicious as always.

Sparrow bar that night. Bread and olives, two steaks, 2 swordfish, bottle of wine, water and soft drinks.

Bella Roma Lovely Pizzas, only complaint the Arabita Pasta was more like a madras the amount of chilli that was in it.


Thursday tapas trail found some new bars behind church that will be visiting again. Only managed to do 5 or 6 as girls got a bit sick of drinking pop. Going to do the others next year!

Friday off to Golden Lion for chicken and to watch Sergio play holiday wouldn't be complete without him. Chicken is simply the best but got to say pork chops come a very close second.

Next couple of days stayed close to apartment as too hot to walk far, Sparrow bar, El Ancla and Golden Lion.

La Cabana for tapas on 2nd night, lovely little court yard in the back great selection.

Forum meet up on Tuesday great to put a face to some names. Straight to Golden Lion for lunch to try the Chicken Croquets after talking to Sparky, OMG they are to die for eldest had them every time after that.
Celler la Parra for tea (thanks to Scouse Mark recommendation).
Tuna Salad, Chicken Breast, Suckling Pig, Mallorcan Lamb, 2 x chocolate brownies, wine, water, soft drinks, Irish Coffee and Brandy 72euro food was fantastic.

Los Farloes for mixed Paela (shelled) lovely as always.

Rancho Grande on Saturday for horse riding and BBQ with No Frills, well worth the money.

Sunday Pizza in Pollensa old town in street just behind the church, wish could remember the name was very good.

As usual set off on holiday going to try new places but not enough days in the week, 3 weeks booked in for next year.

Nice trip report Sunny thank you for posting.
So pleased you enjoyed the chicken croquettes in the Golden Lion, they are the best i have ever tasted and i can vouch for the fact that they are home made .

Great report. you were there at the same time as us. I completely forgot the Forum meeting - maybe next year!

Celler la Parra is a find, isn't it? Excellent house wine at 5.50 Euros - happy days!

Three weeks next year? you lucky devils!

Interesting to read your post. Where did you stay? We are off to the Leo apartments on Saturday and based on advice, I think we are close to the Golden Lion and Sparrow Bar. Keen to try tapas and local food, but with two boys who will be looking for kids meals! Outdoor terraces/beach/play areas are a big help to us as our 3 year old doesn't do sitting for long, but we do like good food! We only have a week, but if PP is as good as it sounds, I think we will be booking early and for longer next year!

Hi,

We stayed in a private let in pinaret not too far from your apartment. You will probably walk past Golden Lion if walking to the beach. We have been going since our youngest was about that age and never looked back, just about everywhere in PP is great for kids and do kids menus.
Our two used to like to have a bit dance or run round the dance floor in the Lion when they had entertainment on, the Sparrow has an enclosed bit at the back so easy to keep an eye.
Always feel relaxed minute we get to PP as every one is so friendly and kids don't want to go anywhere else for sun holiday they're now 16 and 13!

Hi Tina, The Leo apartments are the other end of Gommar, more the residential end and near to the Hideaway or White Rose (Rosa Blanca). The Lion and Sparrow are closer to the Pollensa Park hotel.

You can walk various ways to the beach from the Leo but walking down to the Pollensa Park is probably one of the longer routes. You could cut across the new road and cut through Pinaret or walk down towards the town to hit the centre. All a matter of choice and of course Pollensa Park end will be great for the children.
