Oh Debz you're so lucky... We are locked into May half term and the cheapest for 2 adults 2 kids is £1100 for the week:(
Probably wait and see what Gatwick has to offer once they release them.
Car

april booked £188 for 2 of us (flying out easter weend) and that includes baggage/speedy boarding/credit card charges
July booked for 4 of us...£512 (again including baggage and credit card charges...that is actually £13 less that i paid for this July

Just to put a cat amongst the pigeons, our flights for Novemebr, which we booked on the day they were released are cheaper now than they were then! Maybe it's just because it's November and the flight isnt very popular. However, I am a little suspicious of easyJets costing process this year and wouldnt be surprised if we did see the prices come down on less popular dates. They know that loads of us book as soon as the flights are announced and just maybe they are taking advantage of that? Having said that I wouldnt chance it:rolleyes:

There is a lot of psychology in how Easyjet price their seats. I believe that the first release of prices is not the cheapest as they bet that there are a lot of people waiting for the first seats to be released and so they use this to get a higher price. We have previously found that the prices normally drop a month or so later after this initial burst of activity. Always book before Christmas though and always clear their cookie before booking

Its straightforward if you get in the moment the flights are released they are as cheap as they will ever be. For the last few years we have started watching the easyjet site daily from the moment we return from our September hols. Doing this we have always caught the first announcement and picked up summer flights for as little as £29 one way. Clearly we are not the only ones doing this as by the end of the day the peak school holiday periods are through the roof. Once this has occurred they won't come back down. However, there is one ray of hope I can offer. Keep watching Easyjet over the next few months because they sometimes add in a new flight and when this happens the prices start low again and then build up, but in the peak periods this happens rapidly so you must be quick.

Alcanada Kid, How does one "clear the cookie" and what does this do?

I have talents, but not in IT!

Cookies

Hi Roig, usually you just go into > Control Panel > Internet Options> Browsing History > clear history and cookies: It takes less than a minute!

This might vary with different internet browsers but they are all similar. This prevents Easyjet or Ryanair recognising your computer.

Another option if you have Windows 7 is to use the following option

"Browse with InPrivate
Browse the web without storing data about your browsing session."

Just checked for our flights, for our same three weeks in August/September, Jet 2 has gone up £300 pound more for four of us than what it was this year. It is really starting to be a very, very expensive trip now once we have paid for villa, car hire etc.

I think easyjet do tend to offer "sales" with 25-30% off all tickets. In fact there is one finishing today, but it's only for travel through to March 2011. IIRC they did one just after Christmas last year and I was kicking myself as we'd already booked, although I never actually checked to see whether we would have saved money or not.

If you think about it they need to keep cash flowing in all year round and so when their activity is low (e.g. early in the New Year) they'll be wanting to incentivise people to book just to get some money in the bank.

I'm going to go back through my old easyjet promotional emails and see what dates the offers covered, will post back if I find anything useful.

FYI, Easyjet have another sale on at present, finishing at midnight today, advertising 30% off. I ran a comparison against the quoted costs I had from the 28th October when booking for summer 2011 started, and the prices were around £50 more overall for exactly the same flights

Its not clear whether the booking I was trying to make qualified for the sale, but I'd say in general, on popular routes, the earliest price is the cheapest.

I managed to get flights in May there and back for 2 adults and two children for £234 last night !!!
Roll on May!!

Well done Bluestar, great price for four. :) I priced flights from Gatwick for two in May, £311 and I still need connecting flights.

Sparky, Flybe via Southampton for two, £714.
Don't think I will be looking after the Puppy after all.:(

Well......£103.92 is for Baggage. £12.99 x2 x 4 Flights! Oh! and £18 for Debit Card payment.
Remember the good old days before all these extras!!

Debs tell the Puppy I was asking for him.:)
