We will be in PP 8-22 July this year. Does anybody know yet the dates for this festival and if we will be there to see the fireworks.

JJ

Although the dates don't get posted until very soon before the event , you would be massively unlucky to miss it if you are around between those dates

We are here from 12th to 24th and are expecting the fireworks to be on 18th they better had be because some of our party are leaving on 19th and I have promoised them fireworks

The last time we were there for this fiesta was 19 years ago. It was our first visit to PP and our children were too young. We put them to bed and watched the fireworks from our balcony!

Cd I think the fireworks will be the 18th as we'll. They are usually the first weekend of the school holoidays :)

Any further information on the confirmed date for the fireworks and any other festivities during the Virge Del Carmen Festival. Thanks:)

A friend of mine will be the DJ for the party on the beach and he told me last night that the Feste de le Virgen del Carmen will start on Monday 12th July, the party on the beach will be on Saturday 17th July and the fireworks on Sunday 18th July. :D

Thank goodness

We arrive on 12th and daughter and her friends would never have forgiven me if I had got the dates for the beach party and the fireworks wrong

Thanks very much for the info. Sparky. We arrive on the 6 July for our annual visit to PP. My grand daughter will be delighted, she likes to catch sweets when the drivers or passengers in the trucks etc., throw them out of their cabs.:)

I have always understood that the fireworks, which are on the main day of the festival, occur on the nearest Sunday to the 16th of July. I hope I've got it right as well, we arrive on the 16th ready for the party on the beach the next day

CD, as is custom here  the actual programme is always left until the last minute but i will see Chris (El Posito) tomorrow and ask if he has any more info. I promise as soon as find out i will post it on here. :)

Hi i had a chat with Chris tonight and he is so frustrated, there are posters up for the whole summer programme in Pollensa old town. ....he had a phone call at 8pm tonight from the "organizer" of the port fiestas (which are less than a couple of weeks away) to ask him how to spell his DJ name on the posters .
Chris told me there will be a live band, he will do his set and there is also another DJ, that's all i can tell you for now........watch this space...but don't hold your breath.....the programme may be available before the 2011 fiesta :rolleyes:.

What a great forum you have! Me, the wife and our 9-year-old son coming to PP for the second time next Friday. Thanks to all who have listed all the great stuff to see and do - much appreciated!

Don't know if any of you were lucky enough to catch the Michael Jackson Show last night in the Square as part of the Festival ??

The Council might leave us with cracked pavements and the beach uncleaned til June but somebody, sure knows how to put a show on.

Started at 10 p.m. til nearly midnight. The music, dancing , lighting and stage effects were just amazing . Watched the troup rehearse a couple of numbers in their civvies early evening , which obviously they were not happy with but when it came to the real thing they were just fabulous.

Really lucky if you caught it and totally free ( thanks to us ratepayers !!! ).

Oh what a "Thriller"

BonysLad :D:D:D

Indeed BL and tonight we have the Rag Time Jazz to look forward to, THE party on the beach tomorrow night and then on Sunday the Batucada, fire run with the devils and the fireworks display, all free of charge and not a Health and Safety cop in sight ;);):D.
