Back on topic! I put in my claim for transport (hire car), food/drink and accommodation costs to Ryanair upon my return to UK due to 7 day delay. As expected no response so then sent recorded delivery - again no response. Googled for ideas and found Irish Court charge 15 euro for small claims so decided to go this route. Really didn't see why Ryanair should pay but insurance company refused to entertain and I (and wife) facing penalty charges due to being self employed and not meeting contract conditions. Obviously employment problems were not reflected in the Ryanair claim but at least I thought a little bit of money would go some way to helping out.
I found out on Friday that Court found in my favour and with some deductions I should receive cheque by the end of the month. Throughout the process Ryanair have put a number of hurdles in my path but I have managed to overcome.
