Just come back from a colder than usual Majorca, so I was told. This was my first visit to this lovely island. Great place for cycling and walking with Richard Strutt(our young guide) and 18 pensioners.I'm only a young 40yr old. The walks are ideal for those over 60+ but anyone younger will find it very easy.
After walking from Mossa valley round Puig Roig (not up it as I thought we would) we arrived at Lluc Monestry in the afternoon for a nice cup fo tea and cake. I'd reccomend walking with Richard if you have never walked in Majorca before, it gives you a good idea of the terrain & he gives you a little history of the area. Next time I go
(Sept '04) I'll do my own walks as the paths are very well marked, (Sorry Richard!)plus I'm tooooo young.:D

I found these guides and maps to be very helpful :-
Mallorca North ~D.A. Brawn, R.C. Brawn is a very good map and guide have a look at it on this page :-www.puertopollensa.com/Books.html also their Mallorca North and Mountains "Tour & Trail" Map but wiat until may to buy as a new edition of the map is due out then you will find them at www.walking.demon.co.uk .
Also Mallorca by Sunflower books at www.sunflowerbooks.co.uk . This book contains a walk from Lluc to Pollenca. I enjoyed this walk last Oct' and plan to re-walk it again this year.
As I'm also in my 40s and as yet ready to join the saga treks i can recomend these treks

We are due to be sent review copies of their new maps & will feature them on site as soon as they're published.8)

I will look forward to your review. The map i used last year even although i had it in a "cheap" map case by the end of my holiday was a pile of soaked papemache.
I have been reassured by them that Their "new edition is printed on a special high density polymer using 100% oxygenation inks to produce a waterproof and super tough map that will withstand outdoor use in the toughest of conditions".
Bring on the rain! lol
