I have bought an apartment with my sister in pinaret. I need help with furniture especially bedroom. I can not afford to buy new. Has anyone any ideas please?is there a local paper or website which advertise second hand goods. I know this site does but the ads are not regular. I also would like sun loungers like the ones on the beach.

I would be pleased for any suggestions thanks

The decent sun loungers (same as beach) can be purchased from Plommer on the road from PP into Pollensa. We bought 2 about 4 years ago @ Euro 99.

Try Talk of the North paper for furniture.

Kym, i bought 2 complete single beds for 110€ from the Salvation Army charity shop last year. The shop is in C/Mendez Nunez opposite the Flora Apts, they are very helpful and will deliver.:D

Thank you for the help and ideas. Perhaps trip to ikea. Someone said there was a second hand furniture shop in the port. Does anyone know it please?

Hi Kym,

I've moved this thread to the 'Living & Working' forum as it is a more general discussion on where you can obtain cheap/second-hand furniture. If after looking around you're still looking for something specific, please do post again in the 'wanted' forum.

Another suggestion in the past has been - look around by the bins... We have seen all sorts of usable furniture dumped by the bins at the end of our road & for it to be gone within hours! We've recently become the proud owners of an abandoned yucca plant that had been dumped on some waste ground opposite our apartment. We weren't too sure about its friend the massive cactus!

You might find some useful things in the reclaimation yard in Alcudia. They get alot of old hotel stuff.

Turn right at the first set of lights at the old town wall and go down to the roundabout (roman remains are on your left, cemetary on the right, garden centre at the bottom). Take second exit and it is just down on the right.:)

We've picked up some wrought iron tables and traditional style bedside tables for about 5 euros each:)

I do recall a second hand furniture shop in the Port a few years ago. I'm not sure if it is still there. I'm sorry I can't recall where, i seem to think it was near the market area but can not be sure.

I'm sure if it is still around someone will be able to tell you where it is and give you more info.

As Sparky says, the charity shops may be able to help you.
I also suggest that you make a list of what you want and place under wanted/for sale section so that if anyone is upgrading they may see your post as a reminder.

Kym, I have sorted out some beds for free or little money. i am in PP for a few weeks so send me a pm with your number and we can sort something out.

I am in Gotmar and so are the beds so you could carry them around to Pinaret.

Thank you but haven't got the apartment yet. Hope to complete November. Agent has now said that lots of furniture will be left as part of the sale so that's a result. Thank you anyway.

Hi Kym, I'm really pleased to hear that you are suited!

It is fairly standard to find that furniture does come with property.
Hope all goes well with purchase of the apartment. Pinaret is a lovely area. Good luck!
