Weather in PP in March

Considering spending 2/3 weeks at PP from early March next year.

Searching the net gives a contradictory, confusing picture of what weather to expect at that time of year. Any seasoned PP residents who'd like to comment? We're not after blazing sunshine (though that would be acceptable!!) - just don't want a lot of rain or cold winds.

Hmm Brummie your question's a bit like 'How long is a piece of string?'

Me and my family spend a lot of time in PP at all different times of the year. We've been in March and the weather at this times of the year is not so easy to predict as the summer months. You will probably have an interesting variety of weather if your going for a few weeks!

We've been on the beach in March with temperatures of 20* , but on the other hand 3 years ago we had freezing cold weather and snow!

I always love being in PP in the winter /spring and experiencing the extremes of weather, and there's nothing better than being in a cosy restaurant at night with a roaring log fire burning

I was in PP last March, at the start of the month, and the weather was lovely during the day but cold in the evening. On the saturday we left it was very windy and it seems from talking to locals that that was the start of 6 weeks of unsettled weather.

However, like Debz, I really don't mind too much about the weather at this time of year as the restaurants seem to take on a different atmosphere as most people will eat inside.

You've confirmed more or less what I expected (I think, though, that I was secretly hoping to hear that March was the most reliable month for good weather!). Yes, I can see the attraction of log fires, etc. in cosy restaurants/bars but we're keen to get out and about during the daytime!

As it happens, we might have to delay the trip until early April - more expensive, so it'll have to be 2 weeks instead of 3. I daresay the weather's just as uncertain then, but at least we'll have more hours of daylight. By the way, does anyone know when Mallorcan clocks will go forward in Spring 2008?

Clocks go forward & back on the same dates in Europe now i.e. last Sunday in March & October.

Ah, yes ... I tend not to think of Mallorca as 'Europe' even though its currency is the euro!
