Safe journey m8:)

Thanks guys, i will still be around, keeping an eye on you all LOL!! ;). Just won't be able to give my weather updates.

Can't guarantee to be as efficient as Sparky, but will try and keep weather reports going while she is away.

Thanks lollipop, but it will be a hard act to follow :)

Go for it lolli! Thanks for standing in. Take up that thermometer with pride! We should have a handover ceremony before you leave Sparky!

Come on Lolli - staff problems! LOL!

Web cam showing lots of clouds moving very quickly - so probably quite windy and overcast. Temp showing as 8 degrees, and the little cloud with rain is there too. Lolli - confirmation from our reporter at scene of crime please!

Actually if you click on the weather report at the top left you get taken to the wunderground.com weather page for Mallorca, lots of nerdy weather stuff there pressure etc for the whole island, scroll down to the bottom for up to the minute weather updates :)

Me thinks Lolli out to the swimming pool at 0730 this morning and assisting at a club for local residents until now. However the weather here is a mixed bag, blue sky, menacing clouds and a cool 7 deg. Wind very keen.

No Scarlett it was the indoor pool in the port. Mad I may be but not quite that mad. We have just looked out of our apartment window and low and behold it is snowing!!!!!!!!!

Snowing OMG  BTW Lollipop you dont get paid anymore for two reports in one day :)

Can't believe you have snow in PP! I haven't heard of this before. On the mountains, yes. Anyone know the last time it snowed in the Port?
I'm sure Sparky must be having a real laugh!

Eleanor it snowed when we first bought our apartment 5 years ago and we'd gone out to do some decorating. To say we were cold would be an understatement, as at that time we only had a couple of oil filled radiators which we had to moved from room to room. Only good thing was that we got the job done in extra quick time as we had to work hard to keep warm ;) A warning to anyone who has never been to Mallorca in the winter.. it can get bitterly cold!

It did look very strange to see snow on the beach where a few months earlier we'd been basking in 34 degrees

Am not sure if ever remember snow in the port but I do remember not being able to take the road from Pollensa to Lluc because it was blocked by snow & Yes it can get very cold in the winter - especially with tiled floors!

In Sparky's absence I would be happy to help lollipop with weather updates when I can. With regards to snow in the port, a friend of mine told me that she had a picture of her grandmother in pp knee deep in snow - about 50 years ago!!! We've had a light dusting of it this evening and I'm hoping (but not very optimistic) that it warms up a bit tomorrow, because the schools celebrate carnaval tomorrow morning and it would be such a shame if they couldn't parade in their little costumes!!

Bon Dia, well its less wild this morning. The wind has died down and the dusting of snow went as quickly as it came. There is a lot of cloud around but the sun is peeping through. Temp is 5.4 on the balcony . If anyone wants to see pictures of snow in Port de Pollenca then take a look in the Yacht Club.
