A few years ago Maxims had photographs in the bar taken 50 years ago when it had snowed quite heavily. Don't know if they're still there now it's changed hands.

5 years ago I was over in Feb and it snowed. The day before it was warmish and sunny the next it snowed. I just read on my friends facebook that there was snow, she posted a few hours ago, I assume she meant PP as she lives there.
I just can't believe it. I have had enough of this blooming cold weather and sick of snow. We are flying out tomorrow morning to Palma and the last thing I want to see is more snow!!!! Haven't got room in my case for thermals.

Good Morning, we have a much brighter start to the day today,sky looks much less menacing and temp around 8 deg in the shade. Sun is out so should warm up a bit later.

Still hovering around the 7/8 deg mark, but the forecast is looking a little better.......perhaps not next week but the week after it's supposed to be warming up significantly! Thankfully, after the snow we had yesterday morning, by 12 midday it had brightened up and the school's carnaval went ahead as planned. Lucky for me as I would have had one very upset little boy had they postponed it!!

There is a beautiful photo in Simbads of snow covering fishing boats outside of Simbads before the new beach was created. Simbas was I believe a hotel then. Can anybody shed any light or have further info?

Dont't remember Simbads being a hotel. Do remember the now Torre Playa Apartments/Restaurant being a small Thomsons hotel prior to the now renovated Torre Playa next to the bridge where they feed the fish (was renovated by Parasol Holidays who went bust and were taken over by Globespan!!).

Travel Club of Upminster former head rep Judy, used to display photographs in their former office, snow on the beach and boats.

It is a dark,breezy start to the day here in PP ,temp 7.5 deg. Rain yesterday evening but thankfully arrived at the end of the Carnaval procesion in Pollenca.

Has turned quite wet and damp here as the day has gone on. Hopefully we may get some change later in the week. Sparky,I agree I would still rather be here.

Much better, isn't it?!! It was 17 deg in the car today at 1pm, but still quite a damp feeling. A bit cloudy this afternoon so wouldn't be surprised if it rains!

Well we have been out and about today and not seen any rain,temp still 11 deg on the balcony. There were people walking and sitting along the pine walk which is a lovely change.
