Weather in PP now - 2010

Bon dia amigos, it is raining the wind was high and kept waking me during the night and at around 7am we had some really heavy rain, the wind has dropped a bit but it is still raining steadily with the tempature at only 18c.

Just had a lovely long walk in the cool cool rain, absolute bliss !!!!

But , hopefully , for the holidaymakers , the sun will be bursting out again this p.m. . Looks like the summer is due to settle this week and the long range forecast is predicting a hotter than usual summer.

Did you get home OK in the powercut last night ?. Had to get the candles out but then gave up and went to bed only to have to get up again when the lights came blazing on !!!!

BL we were in Mirch Massala when the lights went out (well i was actually on the loo ), as we walked home we realised it was only certain areas that were off. The square was in total darkness as was that side of Roger de Flor, the bottom end of our road was out but we had power in our end, very strange .
It is pouring down again now but as you say it is due to clear later.

Power cuts

We were in the Nostalgia bar when the lights went out, gave up hope at around mid-night, but noticed Ramons bar on Roger de Flor was open and in light! Every cloud has a silver lining, spent the next 2 and half hours being entertained by the guitar playing, singing locals, none of whom spoke a word of English, was like turning the clock back 50 years. Superb evening, even given a drink on the house.

Others have given a idea of the weather, good days, not so good days. 10 days into our holiday and we have yet to venture into the pool, it,s like ice, i,ve also retreived the winter blanket some nights, nor have i been out in the evening without a jumper. So much for us hardmen BL

Anyway, looks like the remaining 10 days are going to be good, the sunny days we,ve had so far been very warm, and the Smiddy tan is well on it,s way.

We won't see anymore rain now before Sept and the temps are on the rise from tomorrow for the whole summer.

Coupled with that Engerland are on their way to glory in South Africa .

Hey Sparky I'm still addicted to checking your weather reports! Would you say that this June is typical or a fairly bad one since you've taken up residence?

Hi Mearsy, this is only my second year here but so far this June has not been as good as last year and talking to the locals i would say it is not typical weather. Having said that, the weather has gone nuts all over the world hasn't it?.

We were looking at some photos taken at exactly this time last year. The weather was amazing, and almost too hot! We had hired a villa out for a week, and remember Debz and Chelseadons being round and constantly eating ice creams! Yes Sparky, you are right though. Its either a lot colder than usual, whilst in other places its a great deal hotter than is usual for the time of year, so you really can't predict what its going to be like where ever you choose to holiday!

Muchas gracias! I did get the impression that June would be quite settled and more reliable for the weather. We've always been lucky mid may anywhere in the Med, but it's still a risk as you say Bella.

I think I'll just have to make my holidays longer, say, three to four weeks, just to be sure!

Thanks Eleanor, it's my pleasure btw i forgot to tell you that yesterday the temperature hit 41c on my balcony @ 5pm and it's is 30c now.

Hola bon dia amigos, the temperature peaked at 43c yesterday and it looks like it is going to be equally hot today, it is 29c already and sunny with a gentle breeze.
